      TAMB CLOSURE ANNOUNCEMENT   09/06/2017

Following diminishing numbers of visitors to TAMB and the subsequent reduction in TAMB income, it is the intention for TAMB to close definitively from 1st November 2017. TAMB can no longer generate enough advertising revenue to cover the costs of around £300/month to pay for the dedicated server that hosts the TAMB software.  The dedicated server is also older equipment and no longer maintainable, so at some point it would be necessary to migrate the TAMB to a new cloud-based platform. This is quite a large job and would take some time to do. We feel it wouldn't be a worthwhile task given the reduction in traffic and usage of TAMB.  It is the opinion of the TAMB Team that the days of messageboards have largely gone, being overtaken by other platforms. Thank you to all users of the TAMB over the years, and we look forward to seeing you on some other online forums in the future. Since announcing the closure, a number of questions have been asked.

This is not a "boot in the arse" to Board members to increase traffic.

It’s worth pointing out to any people wanting to take on the TAMB that they will quickly outstrip any “free” message board system. That’s what happened with the pre-2003 TAMB and also happened during the “current TAMB” in 2003 – 2004.
It’s all about the number of concurrent users online. At a point yesterday there were about 150 users online – Invision would be charging $130 per month for that. (https://invisioncommunity.com/buy)

We would be prepared to do a handover of the domain names that we currently hold to non-profit making group who seriously wants to organise a new TAMB and has the skills and numbers to do it. This would not include existing software or server. We are especially keen that the platform or the name do not fall into the hands of what we can only call bawbags. We need not mention names, but I'm sure members can think of a few. Any new group would have to start from scratch and give TAMB a complete bottom up ‘makeover’ and make themselves financially viable.   We have a couple of people who are willing to offer advice to any serious players. 1. I just had a look it takes 3 hours 15 from Paris to Metz for a 50 seater bus from the 1 website I looked you are looking at around 30 a head would be straight back after the game. Back into Paris about 0230-0300 could possibly run straight to cdg for early flights home.
  2. I never seen this before I replied I agree with all of this.
  3. I never seen this before I replied I agree with all of this.
  4. I also agree with this and he does enjoy interacting with the fans. I also don't want the scum that abuse him to win. But sometimes the right thing to do is remove yourself from the situation.
  5. Wishing death on his children is unacceptable weather he's unlikable or not. I do think he is an easy target on social media and maybe should think about giving it up.
  6. Thought we were poor in the first half and said to my mate here we go again. Brilliant 2nd half performance and deserved the draw special mention to marvin Bartley who wouldn't have looked out of place in the hearts team great performance. Look forward to the replay at Easter road.
  7. I think you'll find that hibs won the dryburgh cup in 1972. Must be another year your missing.
  8. Linlithgow rose equalise against league cup finalist Ross county. 1-1
  9. Just to get them paying full price sooner.
  10. I've just signed up to do the Grangemouth 10k I've heard it's not that exciting but as a novice it's a good one to start as it's pretty flat.
  11. I take my little boy to Easter road (4) as long as they are well wrapped up and have snacks he usually is ok. I also take a toy and keep him interested by playing next team to get a throw in or corner or free kick if he gets it right he get a sweetie. Any hibs goal is 2 sweets. Bag of haribo Is his preferred choice.
  12. 1985 Aberdeen 31 years ago I was 6.
  13. You forgot about hibs, tut tut.
  14. I think it the consistency issue that the concern to Motherwell fans as we constantly see/hear stewards/police turn a blind eye to certain things from other clubs my own included but it's fair game to act in such a manner to Motherwell fans could it be that it's because there is not as many of them?
  15. I don't understand how Motherwell fans are being targeted with the smoke bomb/flares issue. I seen lots of these at various hibs games this season and last and the police and stewarding hasn't been the same as the way Motherwell are being treated. Only on Saturday at Tynecastle there was a flare and there was no wading into the fans. I'm against pyro at the football but would like to see the same reaction for each incident regardless who the teams are.
