  1. perhaps but he has played well this season, regardless of Motherwell's form. He has not been poor.
  2. after clicking ignore maybe would of helped if you then clicked preferences for the ignore function.....
  3. aye, dark times indeed. Am hoping to get that 2-0 win against Denmark right out of my head
  4. add McLaughlin at Rangers to these two and we have more goalies than you can shake a stick at
  5. that would be the take on it if you had a particular allegiance to Rangers and their singing masses
  6. Holiday Inn - across the road from arrivals/departures - has a wee bar with a telly....
  7. Everyone to their own tastes and all that, but I would avoid both these places like the plague. Same with Walkabout (if still open) and The Ark which is just a horrendous chain pub. After humming and hawing, with all the above discounted quickly, we settled on The Admiral for the Israel game - just a wee bit further up from Rhoderick Dhu. Really good afternoon/evening in there. If want to jump in a taxi and go 5 mins from central then BAaD at the Barras is always great for Scotland games if don't want to be anywhere dark/dingy. If can't get a table/seat then nip across to St Lukes.
  8. ha yes. Without the anthems how on earth would you know whether it was a domestic, European or international game you were watching?
  9. insert: - we played in the street till midnight. ruined now by all the gameboys - laughing stock - Mickey Mouse and you will win cliche bingo.
  10. the penalty was soft but soft penalties are given routinely. I thought St Mirren's against Motherwell was softer and then the penalty was retaken as Kelly had stayed off his line by millimetres. Madden and co seemed intent on giving Saint's an equaliser - much more so than Beaton with Rangers. Scottish officials are not corrupt or biased, they are inept. The OF invariably get soft decisions as these inept officials are still swayed by the larger teams and the occasion. For one half of the OF to suggest refs are more biased towards the other half is laughable - the stats don't support this and the decisions in themselves just confirm ineptitude.
  11. the details needed. I feel my IQ dropping - I'll let you crack on
  12. well if we were watching the same game I don't recall seeing any "stonewall" penalty for the Saints being denied. I also just checked with my Saints supporting friend and his words were "don't recall any claim never mind a serious claim tbh". You'll have to refresh our memories with details such as who was involved and roughly at what time it took place.
  13. over seasons 20/21 and 21/22 (so far), Rangers have had one more penalty than Celtic. Today makes it two more - the standing joke that Rangers are awarded more penalties than any other team doesn't stand up beyond one isolated season. Over the 20/21 and 21/22 seasons, Hibs have been awarded more penalties than any other team.
  14. he doesn't need to be seen as an immediate or an automatic starter to merit a call up. Players in the top leagues playing at the top of their game should be rewarded with a call up into what is, quite a big squad. This offers incentive and also shows the management team are sighted on all eligible players wherever they play and not just those here or over the border (with a possible Scottish granny). Henderson's form in Serie A (from what I have read) puts him well above the likes of McLean and Fleck etc for squad inclusion. I would argue the same goes for Russell and Gauld in the MLS. He is a central midfielder, right footed, and mainly attacking but has played a few times in a holding role. He has been Italy now for 3 years and worthy of an inclusion.
  15. Ryan Kent, Hagi, and Roofe were bought in the last couple of seasons for around £15m. Celtic in pre-season alone spent £12m on three players. Based on those transfer fees and accompanying salaries, you are trying to suggest that the Old Grim couldn't afford nor entice a Doig, Ramsay or at the time Hickey or McGinn? McKenna went for about £3m. And as TB points out above, how does Turnbull sit with such an assessment? an anomaly 😆 Your statement is the furthest thing from the "fact of the matter" as something possibly could be. As an aside, I would much prefer to see the likes of Doig or Ramsay broaden their horizons and look a little beyond Glasgow or the English Championship for their next step-up.
  16. Scotland FIFA ranking when Clarke was appointed in May 2019: 44 Scotland FIFA ranking now: 44 Clear progress! Ship steadied.....
  17. the shots of the car in front taken from what presumably was a camera mounted on top of a truck driving behind were simply amazing. Accompanied by the signature undertone music - it became my favourite part of what were already excellent episodes. And bizarrely this shot seems to be unique to Gomorrah. Stunning yet simplicity in itself.
  18. so even for young emerging talent with bags of potential. Nonsense.
  19. that would suggest the league informs the value rather than the player's ability. If that is the case why did Celtic get £25m for Tierney after he strolled around the Scottish Premiership for 3-4 years?
  20. another thread derailed by the usual suspect wallowing in his favoured go to discussion on bigotry. As for SAF, if I were to have a criticism of him and some similar standing Scottish "legends" is that I always wonder if they should be doing more in their latter career for the game back here. There is of course no obligation to do so and you see them pop back up from time to time but would love someone like SAF or whoever, after a long and successful career managing elsewhere, to come back and manage a Scottish club, or be Director of Football or something. I know the ambition may not be there, or the will after you have managed so long at a high level, but I look at it like a successful player returning to their home club for a final season. Wish would see more older successful Scottish managers do that from time to time. Moyes to Dunfermline!
  21. 😆😅 for the first part in bold. 😕 One For The Watching re the second part in bold
  22. Giving Gilmour a start against England blows the accusations of being cautious or too cautious out the window.
