jailender
T In The Park cancelled next year, due the restrictions placed on it by planners. Not a big fan of it, but I think that will be the end of it.

aaid
Wickerman's called it a day as well. It's pretty sad that a couple of successful and popular festivals are having to stop - I don't think anyone believes T in the Park will be back at Strathallan for organisational and bureaucratic reasons. Toepoke
Good opportunity for some of the smaller festivals to do more business I suppose. Although I thought Electric Fields was great this year, would hate it to get much bigger.

Andy North Croy
I worked at the 1st TITP at Strathallan last year and couldn't believe it got the go-ahead again this year. Not surprised in the slightest it's been cancelled, the site was totally inadequate.
hunchy
The biggest problem with T is getting a decent site for it. Strategy park was great for its size back then. Ballado was OK size wise but was way too muddy when I was there. Not sure where could work. As others have said it has turned into a bit of a nedfest maybe due to the acts they have been getting

Dalgety Bay TA
The writing was on the wall for T when it left Balado. A good site, 10 mins tops of a main motorway, centralish, made it (usually) easy to get to for majority. I went to both years at Strathallan. 1st year was a shambles for public transport and arena lay out, second year was a far better arena lay out but a farce for private transport. You could tell it was on its last legs this year when O2 Priority customers were able to buy 1 weekend ticket and get another free. Never seen offers like that before. It won't be back in the current location and I highly doubt it will be back at all. Rumours of a site just south of the Balado site are probably untrue. I also suppose Tennents are not wanting to be closely associated with an event where kids are dying in the campsite, I can see them being quite relieved to be out of that relationship. T's final statement sums up most of what went wrong in the last few years, basically blaming everyone, including the ospreys, apart from themselves. However they were the ones who went down the EDM route continually for last 4 or 5 years, hence attracting the kiddie market who would, understandably, rather sit in the campsite and get wasted on a £10 case of cans rather than go into the arena and get 2 pints for the same price before coming in stoating to see Calvin or Guetta at the end of the night. PapofGlencoe
T in the Park was one of the few great festivals Scotland put on. Certainly was brilliant when I went ; always had the sun and big acts. Heard it went downhill though. Scotland needs a festival of that size. Something will be done. This Glasgow Green thing is a great idea. A refresh is probably for the best. Edited November 30, 2016 by PapofGlencoe

Used to be a fantastic festival that really drew in a great crowd of regulars who loved their music. They sold out and chased the money. Reap what they sow and all that. Line up in recent years has been more Radio 1 big weekender than the TITP i grew up with. I went every year from 2001-2010 but i never missed it one bit other than the first year i missed in 2011. Used to hate missing bands that clashed, last year i'd have struggled to fill a day with 3 day's line ups combined. phart
I went 1999-2006, by 2006 the writing was on the wall for me as it started to slide, seemed much more people there, pretty much crowded everywhere, which causes tensions and folk clash, then you get fights. Also the pics i saw online from last year were total degradation, look liked a scene from some Nero Orgy. They had to stop it judging by some of the pics, plus folk dying, it'd turned into a depraved event. properly depraved in some areas.
