He's playing 90 minutes week in, week out and so trying to gt him to un-retire for one game while blooding a new fullback in the friendly seems like the best plan. The next option is.. Liam Palmer from Sheffield Wednesday isn't it. Playing fairly regularly for a club at the right end of the Championship. Jack Grimmer seems to have been dropped for League One Shrewsbury. Donald Love has by all account been pretty terrible for Sunderland.

noctonjock
At lot of people have picked Berra for centre half . If he plays anything like he did last night against non league opposition we're in trouble

Not the way I'd like to be putting a player's name forward but this is where we are at the moment, especially in defence.

The way Matt Phillips is playing he'd be my first name on the teamsheet. Wouldn't be surprised to see Strachan try and coax Hutton out of retirement. That's pretty much what I'd go with. Although I would put Martin at RB and bring in whoever the in-form CB to partner Mulgrew.

Burke would worry me up front he's been coming off the bench into midfield hasn't he?
bonny78
Ppl are forgetting we need an attacking team for the next game as its a home one.

I think it was two months at most. He was back training before the break so will be back in plenty of time for Slovenia.
Shed_Tartan_Army_Yeah
Anya didn't do anything drastically bad against England so unless there is a friendly and they experiment with someone else who plays a blinder then can't see anyone other than Anya playing right back. For me Armstrong is more an attacking mid than a central, holding one beside Brown. I would put McArthur in with Brown, and Armstrong in a 3 with Burke and Snodgrass behind a striker. And Matt Philips and George Boyd deserve to be in the squad at least too
LewisEDI
just play as much of the celtic players as possible and get strachan to put on a northern irish accent and we might be in with a chance

Malcolm
Kitchen sink time.... old fashioned 3-2-5 in the wm formation... 1. gordon - goals 2. Bardsley - right back 3. Tierney - left back 4. Brown - right half back 5. Mulgrew - centre half back 6. McArthur - left half back 7. Forrest - right wing forward 8. Burke - inside right forward 9. Griffiths - centre forward 10. Snodgrass - inside left forward 11. Anya - left wing forward

runningtings
I'd go with this: ----------------------- Gordon ----- Martin ------- Berra ---------- Tierney Anya -------- Brown ------ Fletcher ---------- Robertson ---------------------- Armstrong ---------- Snoddy -------------------------------- Griffiths * Burke as an impact sub But I think he will go with this: ----------------------- Gordon Anya --------- Martin ------- Berra ---------- Robertson ---------------- Brown ------ Fletcher Ritchie----------------- Morrison ----------------- Forrest ---------------------------- Griffiths
Templeton_Peck
Gordon Tierney (Worth a try at right back - We have to try and get Tierney and Robertson on the team. 2 cracking prospects) Martin Mulgrew Robertson Mcarthur Brown Anya Snodgrass Burke Griffiths Plenty of pace and flair on the wings, with full backs making overlaps 2 experienced central midfielders hopefully bossing the midfield with Mcarthur supporting attacks. Snodgrass has licence to roam and I would like to pick a in form striker banging the goals in but we just don't have it, so I would go for Griffiths, who will definitely give a the Slovenian defenders no time on the ball, but there is also a case for Naismith or S Fletcher to play upfront. I do think though that Ritchie is nailed on to start for Strachan, but please not James Forrest. he is an honest enough player and he does put the effort in but he just lacks quality. He is a poor mans Mcgeady and that's saying something.
