Snoddy has done no bad on the wing before but if needs must then I'd probs go with Armstrong as he gets about the pitch well.

You've got some bizarre views IMO. Snodgrass' best position is on the wing.

He's good on the wing, just paceless - tho he makes up for that with his strength and ability to shield and keep the ball. Ideally, I'd play him as a withdrawn forward to allow our speedy players to play on the wing.

If we have Burke or Forrest or Anya on the opposite wing, then there's no issue having Snoddy wide.

Yes I was being sarcastic given Strachan made similar comments when Burke was left out for the Slovakia game.

We have Burke, Fraser, Phillips, (and yes) Forrest all better suited to a wide role. Remember Slovakia? Snodgrass is important for set pieces and an ability to get in the box and score, but it's too easy for opposition full backs to go roving up the park if there's no threat behind them. We need to stop being easy touches and set up in a way that worries the opposition. It's delusional to ignore how vital pace is in today's game. Caledonian Craig
Pace on the wing isn't everything. You also have to be able to take players on and beat them then put a telling cross into the box.

He may be good offensively on the wing (after a fashion) but he can't beat a man readily (Slovakia) and he can't get keep up with an opposition counter attack (Slovakia). Wee Barrie will play central too, in time, because that's his natural position. His electric pace will make him especially good there (just as it does Armstrong). tartanmartin
think it might be easier to name the crowd than the team. heard today that ticket sales are 3000 - 4000. anyone else heard how sales are going?

GordyA88
Snodgrass wouldn't start for me. He's not done much since going to West ham and was shocking in the last 3 games for us. The 3 in behind Rhodes would be Fraser, Armstrong and Phillips (if fit) for me. Will never happen mind you.

Would be happy to see that vs Slovenia as well. Plenty of pace in there

wanderer
Something like this would be ok ..........................Gordon ......Anya.......Martin.....Berra....Tierney/Robertson (could flip a coin on that one) ..............Morrison...Armstrong ........Phillips.......Cairney...... Snodgrass ........................Rhodes What I expect Strachans team to closer resemble ..........................Gordon .....Martin....Hanley....Mulgrew...Tierney/Robertson (again, that one could be decided on a coin toss) ................Morrison...Brown ......Anya........Snodgrass......Burke .......................Martin His lack of a recognized RB says to me he does plan to use Anya and/or Martin there at some point over the two games, unless he plans to roll out that stupid formation he tried against Gibraltar where he flooded the midfield and left us over exposed at the back.
