If he's good enough to take them to a title and the last 16 of the Champions League, he's good enough to keep them up. It's a ludicrous decision. He's been badly let down by the players, plus Kante has been a huge loss. He protected what is really a pretty average defence and made them a lot better than they actually are. If this is what money does to football I'm almost glad the Scottish game is skint. I really hope they get relegated now and don't come back up until the current owners are gone. After Leicester won the league and were awarded the trophy, the players could hardly get it off the chairman and his son during the lap of honour. And there was big picture of the chairman on the front of the programme for their first home champions league game against Porto. He seems like an arsehole. And in any case, even from a completely hard-headed view, the 'fairytale' of leicester could be worth more milking of goodwill, even if they go down (and maybe come back up) whereas they've trashed any chance of banking that goodwill now. What they didn't strengthen was the defence. And being honest, a defence which featured Simpson, Morgan and Huth, all decent journeyman pro's, was never going to be the long term answer. They all played out of their skins last season, no doubt high on the confidence the whole team had, but they have regressed back to their normal levels this season, as has most of the team. None of the buys have done anything of note to justify prices, ok give Ndidi longer as only been there a month or so but the remainder have hardly pushed the team on or even helped them stabilise. Team has been in freefall for a while now and nothing that Ranieri was doing was making any difference to that. I think they are, or possibly were, in real danger of going down, especially as teams like Burnley and Hull started picking up points here or there.
