Och Aye
Damn it. Far too hasty decision. Should have be given to August 27th
Auld_Reekie
Disappointed it didnt work out for him to be honest, more so because of the predictable hostility and doubt from our fabled media and current/former pros. Maybe they were right but it's soul-destroying seeing such a negative mentality seek to undermine him when he was appointed. Im not making excuses for Cathro but the commentary around his appointment and whether he would fail to command a dressing room was almost a self-fulfilling prophecy. Not surprised he's gone but hope he goes on to better things. Really needs a well-run, lower-league team to cut his teeth with away from the media glare. If he's up to it, he'll be back, if not, he wont but it'll be a fairer test that jumping in at Hearts.
wanderer
Interesting development, Alex Rae claiming that Cathro has been down at Wolves for the last couple of days discussing a possible role there (he was the Wolves manager assistant in Portugal)

From what im hearing he will be away this week. for once my ITK source was spot on The players have to take their fair share of the responsibility, Walkers attitude in the last 6 months has been disgraceful, Goncalves coming back from his summer holidays looking like he had been on a 2 week all inclusive holiday, Djoum coming back from the African Nations as a winner and spouting off about a move to England while no trying a leg on the pitch. With Berra, Lafferty and Smith looking like very good signings we are probably a GK and a creative midfielder away from a decent side under a strong manager. A journalist called Tim Nash who covers Wolves games seems to be the source and he even says Cathro has been down there for the last two days. As Michael Stewart once put it, he's got the job he's always wanted, one with maximum power and minimal responsibility. Cathro has been made to deal with a real shite sandwich. A totally imbalanced squad when he took over, meaning they had to sign a full team on short notice in January. The loss of his best player in Paterson, having to deal with the fall out of the club's failure to handle Jamie Walker's future adequately. All this meaning he's going to this season already up against the 8ball and is now effectively going to lose his job over a defeat to Peterhead and a draw to Dunfermline. He's not been good enough but it all seems remarkably unfair on Cathro. Meanwhile the DoF who has been in charge of creating the entire shit storm will receive minimal criticism, keep his job, pick the successor and get off scott-free. he's got some decent players in that team. They weren't playing for him - that's his fault. I wanted him to do well too but the fact is the ex pros were right. He's no manager. Levein should go too. kumnio
Cant see Budge allowing Daly to take the job, and Hartley wont take it working under Levein, two bitter control freaks just wouldnt be able to work together.

Bzzzz
Is embdy really surprised at the mess Levein is overseeing at Tynecastle? Talk about the highs and lows in football, was delighted that Ann had bought the club with plans etc etc, that was shortly reduced to devastation as that clown Levein was brought in to ruin everything on the pitch. What we needed was a strong manager in control of the team to keep us stable whilst we invest in the main stand, we needed someone who would bring people through the door to fill this new main stand (and all the extra seats that might arrive one day). Instead we have the "tactical genius" that isn't Levein with yet another stupid experiment that hasn't worked in the slightest and which has probably cost the club hundreds of thousands if not more. I don't know how long he is going to be allowed to continue draining the club of money and life, however long it is it is FAR too long. He needs to go and pronto. We won't get ANY manager of any stature with him pulling strings in there. He, for me, is the anti-christ of football. Hibs must by absolutely pishing themselves at us. He needs to go. No question about it in my mind, look at the state of us now. It's pathetic and it is all his fault.
