When is the squad announced?  Less than 3 weeks now

I'm guessing it'll be at least a week and a half away. Strachan will want as much of a chance as possible to assess how well/badly the players have started the season.

Tierney Griffiths etc are definites but the likes of McGregor, snodgrass, Burke etc are in the balance.

GK'S - Happy with is what i would have selected

DF - I wouldnt have had Hanley or Anya as they arent playing first team football and cant be fit. I would have had Liam Cooper and Lee Wallace in

MF - Only one is i would have made room for Calum McGregor probably at McGinns expense

ST - I wouldnt have had Naismith in as i dont see what he bring especially as a striker, but him being there isnt keeping anyone i would be desperate to have. Maybe May in a couple of months if he keeps knocking the goals in

Overall pretty happy with it

Strachan's last ever squad hopefully & as usual it's uninspiring, fraught with questionable and baffling selections and ultimately disappointing.

As in you want us to lose in Lithuania?

Squad is pretty much as expected, Callum Macgregor might have had a shout.

Don't understand the inclusion of Hanley or Steven Fletcher.

I'd feel sorry for McGinn if he lost his spot but what have Shinnie or McGregor got to do just to get in the squad.

Whittaker is only there due to a lack of options at right back

Out of interest if you were the manager who would you have left out, who would you have in instead of them and why. I dont see any howlers of mistakes myself

Good to see Archer get a chance, as he was really good with the U21's a few years back, and has been pretty consistent with Millwall last few seasons.

Whittaker raised a eyebrow, but I do not expect the defence for these two games to differ much from the last few games.....  Tierney, Robertson and Mulgrew have the shirts just now, and a case of does he reintroduce Russell Martin for these games or not.

Midfield looks really strong, and while I would have liked to have seen MacGregor called up, it would have probably came at the expense of Snodgrass, Fletcher or Bannan (who regardless of form or game time, seem to always find their way into Strachans squads).

Apart from that, pretty much as you were and no real surprises.

Pretty much as expected bar, McGregor obviously.

Wonder who the moaners will say shoulda got in and at who's expense?

Give it an hour or so and you'll see the usual suspects online wailing about how Danny Wilson, Lee Wallace, Ryan Jack and Graham Dorrans should have been called up

Bannan, Darren Fletcher, Naismith and Snodgrass should be dropped. Got to move on from them.

Pleased to see Tom Cairney is still in there. Good option from the bench.
