andyD
Just read some comments from Caixinha about the lack of Rangers players in the Scotland squad. It can sometimes be hard to tell exactly what some foreign coaches, mean without hearing it, but: "we want to have players in the Scottish national team," "It is important for our players when they go there that they receive minutes," "It is also important for our players, when they go there, that the national teams are fighting to be present in the great competitions of the world - and what better than a World Cup?" "It is important for them to come back, enjoy winning and have that spirit - that is always good for us as a team." Could take a few of those things in different ways.. but it got me to thinking about who in the Rangers team has even the slightest hope of a call up let alone a start. It's fine wanting your players involved, but you need to have players who can earn a call in the first place. Danny Wilson - Seems like a bench players now, so very unlikely to get a call when he's not even on the pitch for them. David Bates - Similar boat to Wilson in that he just doesn't play. Lee Wallace - No where near. We have several better players and he's blown his opportunities time and again. Graham Dorrans - Well down the list for the 'Armstrong' position.. maybe 5th or 6th. Would take a lot of injuries for him to get a call. Ryan Jack - Potential exists for a call next year, as Fletcher and Brown are coming towards their ends. But it feels like McDonald and Bridcutt are better players, maybe even Shinnie. Jason Holt - Doesn't seem there to me, and hasn't kicked a ball in the Scottish Prem. Kenny Miller - At 37 i think it's fair to say his time is well gone by. Ryan Hardie - Seems like he can finish, but far too early for him and he's barely even a bench players for 'gers. So I really don't see who Caixinha thinks might be involved in the upcoming two games. An FYI, I'm not a celtic fan, nor am I trying to knock rangers, just wondering if maybe I'm not seeing something.

wanderer
Being honest, nobody really sticks out in the current Rangers team at the moment as worthy of a call up..... and most those players mentioned play in positions we are already fine in, or are no better than what we have already (Bates is certainly no better than what we have at the back, and Wilson's ship sailed a loooooooooooong time ago). Lee Wallace might get the odd call up here and there, but with what we have in the team just now, again he will struggle to get anywhere near a game. Guys like Hardie and Ross McCrorie might get a sniff, but talking a few years before they are anywhere near contention on a regular basis. jailender
Reading Caixinha's comments, I don't think he is saying that any players in particular should be in the Scotland squad, just that it is a target for them.
Parklife
Rangers' best Scottish player at the minute plays for St Johnstone. Mainly because Caixinha is a shite judge of a player.
ErsatzThistle
Ryan Jack is the only player they have *at the moment* that I'd consider for the national team. We don't need Lee Wallace anymore, can't believe some eejits would still have him called up. Stephen Kingsley and Barry Douglas have a better claim to a place than him. Are there any young Scots in their youth teams that might stand a chance of getting into the first team in the next year or two ? Toepoke
I'd be delighted if Rangers had players available to enhance our team. They don't though and haven't had for years.

Shhh, thats boring and we haven't had too much about Rangers recently. Jack possibly, but only if we were struggling. Wallace, probably the same, we are better off with an English League 1 player at left back at the moment. Wouldn't put anyone else in at the moment. Laughed at this one though... "Wallace if got back to his best won't put Robertson or that wee f*cker out from left back."

Since his last injury, he has been nowhere near his best. England away was probably his last good game. In terms of youth, we seem to have a strong group coming through (think we have about 8 in the Scotland under 19 squad - including Barjonas and Wilson), but who knows how many will actually make it. Hopefully stopping playing in Scotland and playing against the European sides might make a difference there.
Reevesy
What has Ryan Jack done to be considered for the national team, other than sign for one of the old firm ?

Well if about ten other players get injured or suspended, he is an option to have on the bench.

I thought he was a good player then too. He probably will do well for Rangers as well but that's an area we have loads of competition in, and he's rightfully nowhere near it at the moment. kumnio
Not a single (Scottish) player from Ibrox is good enough to be included in a Scotland squad,

Texas Pete
He'll need to get them playing better then and maybe stop buying duds from overseas when there are decent Scottish players available.
