macy37
For me is now a dogfight between us and Ireland. Lose tonight and the dream is buggered yet again even at this early stage.
Peedie
Poland have second already? Even though we have just drew with them away? We have played our two hardest games of the group and have both Poland and Germany at home, plus we are yet to play gib. Win tonight and second is still very much ours. COLT NY
I think it's way too early to claim that. Beating Poland at home and win today would put us even on points with them... and they've still got Ireland twice and Germany away.

Clyde1998
We're now sitting third - and we're currently the best third placed team (ie automatic qualification spot).

wee-toon-red
We're definitely playing for first now. Remember the others have played Gibraltar and we haven't. If you take them as a guaranteed six points (surely even we can't screw that up) then it's us and Poland out front and we've still got the Poles to play at home. No reason we can't win the group. Tartan blood
3rd - we want firstIf we'd lost tonight, i'd still have been hopeful of 3rd. 1st or 2nd is ours!

That's the point I was making to my auld man tonight. In reality we are sitting joint top with Poland. You would think. Plus having played two of our 3 rivals away. Although Georgia away scares the life out of me. I remember the last time all too well.
exile
The group is looking very tasty - 10-7-7-7 all to play for - could be tight in the end - why not aim for first? we maybe didn't quite believe we could beat Germany (at least until we scored) but looking back, we could have got a result. if we win our home games - a big if - who knows? well there is always Georgia away to worry about
BremnerLorimerGray
3rd - we want first Exactly this. This isn't a timid Scotland side, Strachan will want 1st.

We've also got to remember that our 2 biggest rivals have yet to play each other!! They can't both get 6 points from those games. So, essentially, we've gained ground on one of them (or possibly both depending on the results) before a ball is kicked. Anything less than 3rd is unthinkable now. We are scotland though. I just hope we can see it through. 1st or 2nd from the start we have had should be the target but there is a hellava long way to go. We have the team and manager to do it and if worse came to worst we will win our 3rd place play off of that I'm confident.

fringo
First is really unrealistic at any time. 2nd is achievable but really, really hard considering the group and the start Poland and Ireland have had (still possible though). 3rd would be a play-off and the teams involved would now be lower pot teams, so far better than previously. But first in a group with Germany in it and then Poland currently getting results ?!? C'mon, we can't get carried away so early on after so many tight games. Cracking result tonight though ! hoofitharder
before a ball was kicked in this group i don't think anyone thought we would finish top.and i think that still stands.it is about us, ireland and poland our aim has to be to beat georgia and gibraltar home and away and get at least 4points from the poles and the irish.at this moment we are right on track.finishing top is possible but i think our lack of goals will cost us.that said gordon strachan needs to cure the side of the scottish disease( struggling against sides we should beat )but hey i can't remember the last time i felt so good. ian
EddardStark
4 Points from our next two games will see us well positioned. I genuinely think we can beat ROI away so 6 is on the cards.

King Of Paisley
Hoping for a draw between the Republic and Poland. With a win against Gibraltar we will be right on Poland's coat tails. The game at Hampden against Poland is shaping up to be absolutely huge now.
PASTA Mick
If Ireland beat Poland in the next match, Scotland and Germany get their expected win; we will all be level on points!! Personally, I think Poland have been the most impressive side (why were they so shite when they were qualifying against England last time out?!). Ireland are rank. Long-balls, constant fouling but very lucky. They tried to kick us off the park last night but football won. I think Poland will beat them next time out. As for us, we simply have to beat Poland at home and Georgia away. We can get something in Dublin and Germany at home but I think we all know there will be at least 1 -up along the way.
