Broath Boy
If you were giving a vote in this because of your Union membership which way would vote. Assuming your Union was telling you to vote for Neil Alexander as leader and Katy Clark as deputy out of a pool of Sarah Boyak, Neil Findlay, Jim Murphy and Katy Clark, Kezia Dugdale which way would you vote, all assuming of course. Cove_Sheep
I'd suggest returning the form to your Union removing your subs from Labour.
Toepoke
Funnily enough two guys next to me at work today were talking about it. Both SNP voters, both sent ballot papers from the union...
Stapes
My wife voted, Murphy and Clark. She's anSNP member and pretty sure she doesn't pay the political levy.
iainmac1
My wife voted, Murphy and Clark. She's anSNP member and pretty sure she doesn't pay the political levy. Why did she vote? And vote for him? Murphy seems to be the media darling at the moment and is very underhand and sly. I would prefer Findlay got it
Charlie Endell
I've just rejoined Unite as things are less than great in my workplace and I may need their assistance at some point (I'm having to keep this quiet down the Conservative Club). I certainly don't remember agreeing to pay the political levy (I didn't pay it before and most certainly don't want to pay a bean to Ed & co) - to my horror I was sent a ballot paper, which went straight in the bin. Unite is urging its members to vote for Findlay and Clark. Edited November 28, 2014 by Charlie Endell
motherwell
Just to make sure you are not contributing to the political levy (or the labour party !) Unite have a one page form in their rule book that you can download ,fill it in and send to your branch office.

Charlie Endell
Findlay appears to be completely out of his depth, so it has to be him.

FuNsTeR
I have a vote even after opting out of the political fund ... I voted for the two candidates that will do the most damage for labour ie Jim Murphy and Katy Clark
Scunnered
Findlay & Clark will be very good for Scottish Labour
Khana Lagur
Was Clark not the dipstick that put out a flyer a week or so back saying the abolition of Trident could win back 20% of the Labour vote from the SNP.? Or was that a spoof?
ErsatzThistle
How many ordinary working class people (not Labour activists or trade unionists) out there today in Scotland actually know just who the hell Neil Findlay, Katy Clark, Kezia Dugdale actually are and what they stand for ? Not a lot I think I'm safe in saying.

Stapes
Why did she vote? And vote for him? She voted that way because it'll do most damage to the Labour Party in Scotland. Findlay would definitely be helpful to them as they can stand him up as a solid left winger.
Hertsscot
No, she referenced a survey that said these are the kind of policies that Labour need to adopt to win back the SNP vote. Problem of course being in Westminster politicians don't want it whereabouts northern branch office thinks or offers is completely irrelevant. Indeed, but Scot's want a Scottish Labour that stands up to London Labour, Findlays politics would do this and Clark has always done this. Guest Extreme0
Dosen't matter who gets elected though if you want policy change. That has to come from the party itself and if barely anyone is willing to change it then they will not go through with using those ideals. Findlay may have better policys that suits actual labour in general, but if the party and the people themselves don't change to fit those policies, then nothing will change. Absolutely, but if you have the left at the front of the party its these ideas that get exposure. The Murphys and Curran's can't harp on about progressive change then deny their leaders progressive ideas. Electing progressive leaders isn't a bad thing for any party, no matter the circumstances.
