The Laud
Appointed director of football at Raith Rovers. I thought the announcement at midday was going to be the sacking of the manager.Any thoughts from rovers fans on here.
HIGHTOWER 1314
Decent appointment but only time will tell how successful it will be but something definitely has to change on the park.
Langtonian
so instead of just paying a wage to a useless manager the rovers are now paying a wage on top of that for a director of football to oversee a useless manager why cant the board just not admit they made a cnut of extending the managers contract.?any other manager with murrays record would have been shown the door months ago Edited December 26, 2014 by Langtonian
Jimbo
That's about it in a nutshell. If the managers no good which Murray obviously isn't admit it,punt him and bring someone else in

Swindon Rob
I always tried to get behind Malpas when he was Swindon manager but unfortunately he just wasn't up to the job. Perhaps a 'director of football' role might suit him better, but as a coach or manager he was awful. Hope he does better with Raith.
Robroysboy
Terrible record at motherwell as number one and assistant manager. Rumours was burcher wanted malpas as hus number two at motherwell and when they refused he withdrew his recent application.

sbcmfc
He was the worst Motherwell manager in my life time. Did ok as butchers number 2 at Motherwell and ICT, and I've no doubt he has the tools, but perhaps doesn't know how to use them without help? Ormond
One of the most under-rated players ever to pull on the dark blue. That shouldn't be forgotten.

Capital Saint
I went right off him when Scotland played Moldova in Chisenau. Some people might remember the crush to get into the ground. A bus carrying the under 21 squad got caught up in the jam. Most of the players were waving and smiling at the Scottish fans. Maurice Malpas, who must have been in some kind of coaching capacity at the time, looked out on the fans as if they were dirt on his shoe.
