not sure if i am misunderstanding you - but BACS is 2 working days - Remitted on Monday arrives morning of the Wednesday etc

unless you are saying payment can be post dated 1 week - unless you are saying - Remitted Thursday arrives Monday

Yes, exactly. Payment can be remitted on the Thursday/Friday and paid the following week.

"Payment" can still be made in one week with "cash" not received until the next if BACS payments are utilised, which most companies do these days. I process payments to subcontractors on a weekly basis using this method. It means you retain the cash, including interest, for that wee bit longer whilst still satisfying your contractual requirements.

Not sure you would get BACS in cloud cuckoo land, where you presumably reside, so you can perhaps be excused.

Surely they'd just send a CHAPS? That's what we do if we are going to be late sending money to a client.

Yes, but the point is, it wasn't late. If the remittance is raised on or before the date for payment (which Scotty reliably informs us was the Friday) then the payment is contractually not "late". The fact that they (again, according to Scotty) did not receive the cash until the following week is irrelevant.

If, on the other hand, Rangers had not issued a remittance by the date for payment, then a CHAPS payment can be done to avoid a contractual payment delay. They cost around 25 quid though so most companies avoid doing them if they can.

Maybe Mcinnes told why he wasn't interested in the job :-)

Anyone actually in a half decent job would be mad to take the Rangers job just now unless there's some sort of investment coming for next season.

Only another "up and coming" coach would find it a challenge worth taking on and that would probably not go down well with the fans.

I just hope we don't take on a serial failure or under achiever like Coyle or Davies.

I foresee it being Billy Davies assisted by Barry Ferguson.

To be fair to Billy Davies, he's a good manager, just not very popular for whatever reason.

He took Derby up through the play offs when they were relegation favourites, they barely spent a penny and sacked him for being bottom of the EPL (with a squad that was heading for league 1).
