Yet Another Reason Not To Buy From The Co-Op.

Although it is illuminating that you've pointed out that the reason you backed a party with little redistributive policy, and by little I mean hee haw, is a bit of old fashioned glory hunting.

You are quite literally the hün of politics

Does John Lewis not have a similar ethos as regards Employee Ownership as the Co-Op?

There are similarities, however... every member of the Co-op, is a shareholder, with equal voting rights.

That includes customers, suppliers and even the heid bummers at the top of the pile, as long as they have the requisite £1 share.

John Lewis's staff are 'partners', and it was only in 2001, while there was a Labour government, that JL stopped game-shooting trips for their 'partners', so its ethos is flawed IMHO. And within JL, not everyone is equal... where's Orwell when you need him - Oink!

If you want true owner/worker deal, try these guys: http://www.freibergs.com/resources/articles/leadership/semco-insanity-that-works/

and this from Brazil.

I particularly like the expression: 'When no one is in charge - everyone is responsible.' :guitar:
