PASTA Mick
Celtic have permission to move forward with safe standing -http://www.celticfc.net/news/8420 Good news for football in Scotland? I think so.

deecie
Sounds promising, but I fully expect the SFA to somehow mess it up for us all.

At U Peter
Brilliant news. I wonder how Celtic are going to allocate the tickets for these areas now though.

wanderer
Great news. Hopefully it is introduced all over including Hampden Very much doubt it, as UEFA/FIFA events have to be seated (in Germany the seats have to be put back in for when teams play in Europe or the national team are using the stadium). wanderer
He never mentioned UEFA events though. Would seem pointless for Hampden.... just for 2 cup finals and couple of semi finals.... when Queens Park have no need for it the rest of the time and Scotland are unable to make use of it. The seats are not removed in the first place , they are folded back under the railing behind, thats how the germans and austrians got it passed by uefa/fifa . wellyman
Grounds at stuttgart, hamburg & dortmund have the fold away seats.

Yeah, I saw the safe standing Scotland mock up when they had a road show back in 2012.... there is a locking mechanism along the rows which is locked to take the seats out for standing games, and unlocked to put the seats back in for seated games when required, but I suspect people will just stand anyway regardless if there seat folds down or now. You're completely missing the point. There's so few games at Hampden where standing could be used they'd be as well just keeping 'normal' seats. wembley67lisbon
Thankfully I've just got my ST in an area that's been earmarked for it. 209.110,111,112. 2600 odd places
adamntg
Dundee Utd should do it to The Shed and revert it to the home end. Would be a great boost for the atmosphere.

jim.mccole
Does it mean cheaper admission prices? I prefer to sit.

Return of Yermaw
from 16/17. 15/16 would be better but suppose work needs to be carried out. This will hopefully pave the way for all Scottish clubs with all-seaters who want it, to start the process of introducing it - we will then see which local authorities are complete job's worths. With this, the pyramid system and play-offs, my wish list is becoming shorter. Now just awaiting: - summer football - rebranding (completely separate and distinguishable from the EPL) - alcohol permitted in grounds - better pre-match entertainment to encourage you to go to the ground and stadia area earlier (and contribute to the club's revenue). linked to the above point. At the current pace, maybe all of the above within 5 years.........
