If we b beat Georgia Poland and Gibraltar!!! Do we automatically qualify!!!?

If Poland lose in Germany then yes the 3 wins above would see us automatically qualify. Huge next set of fixtures with us needing a win in Georgia and hoping the Germans beat Poland in Berlin.

No we don`t. If we win 3 but lose to Germany we`d have 20 points and Germany and Poland could have 22 and 20 respectively so a draw between them would leave us third which would probably mean playoffs (know we were best 3rd till Russia got points back after possible sanction?). At the end of September we`ll probably be 4th but still in with a chance of being 1st so it`s going to be interesting.

Germany and Poland won't play out a deliberate draw though - its the next set of fixtures on the same night we are in Georgia. I fully expect Germany to avenge their defeat in Warsaw.

The Faroes beating Greece today was bad news for our chances of being the best 3rd placed team as Greece now trail the Faroes by 4 pts and Hungary have dropped points to the Greeks but not the Faroes. That group maybe the favorites right now given points v the Faroes will count unless Greece get their shit together very quickly.

Georgia away worries me more than Germany & Poland games to be honest.

It is the type of banana skin game we have struggled with. However in addition to being a different setup and one that has performed well in 3 difficult away games a couple of things this time should hopefully work in our favor. Firstly it is game one of a double header whereas last time we had played on the Saturday in a huge game against the Ukraine at Hampden. Secondly we know that Germany and Poland also play that night and will expect Germany to avenge their defeat in Warsaw. If that happens a win in Georgia for us would then leave everything in our own hands. No doubt we won't make it easy but what a great opportunity we have made for ourselves and frankly we don't deserve to qualify at least automatically if we can't win in Georgia.

Spot on!?
