Ally Bongo
Couple of quality defenders A central midfield maestro - someone in the ilk of Zinedine Zidane A top quality forward player - someone in the ilk of Marco Negri (replacing the 2 seasons he had at Rangers with a qualifying campaign) Think thats it ......... John_B81
Georgia defeat and Germany dropping points to Poland and Ireland in consecutive games has killed us.
Orraloon
Just realised there's a 4th possibility if we beat Poland and only draw with Gibraltar while Ireland get zero points. Surely that wouldn't happen? That has been the scenario which has been in my head since the fixtures were announced. Can you just imaging how it will feel in that last game with 10 minutes to go. The score in Faro is sitting at 0-0 and Poland are winning 1-0. What would happen next?
Orraloon
For once we can all agree gilbralter game is a guaranteed 3 points. Awe FFs min. How many folk said that about Georgia? Do we never learn?
Orraloon
It's not a safety net if Ireland draw... Aye, that "safety net" has got some awfy big holes in it.

Orraloon
An Irish equalizer of course... Och min, you've got nae imagination. We score first, Gibraltar equalise in the last minute and McGeadie equalises in the 98th minute from the penalty spot after diving in the box. Doric
the play offs will not be good to us Rather be at a full Hampden for a play off than a friendly with crowd of under 9000
Magnum
By my reckoning, and somebody please correct me if I'm wrong, assuming that we're guaranteed 3 points against Gibraltar, if we beat Poland, we will get the play off spot, at the very worst ! If Germany beat Ireland, then Ireland beat Poland, we will get 2nd spot and automatic qualification. Poland, Ireland and us will all be on 17 points, however we would go ahead of both Poland and Ireland on the head to head rule, and Ireland would get the play off spot, again on the head to head rule over Poland. So, the bottom line is, we just have to beat Poland !!!!!!!!!!!

Orraloon
If we get 6 points, we get a play off place as long as Ireland don't beat Germany. We can't get 2nd place. We can still get 3rd place if we get 4 more points but only if Ireland lose both of their last 2 games.

I'll go back to sleep !!!!! Mind you, beat Poland and we'll get a play off spot !

Orraloon
Mind you, beat Poland and we'll get a play off spot ! As long as we beat Gibraltar and Ireland don't beat Germany. Or we draw with Gibraltar and Ireland lose both games. You'll get there eventually.
Bino's
Beat Poland and Gibraltar. Ireland draw with both Germany and Poland that's worth a bet
new hugh
Of course, all of this is largely irrelevant given that we haven't seen aNything over the past two games to suggest we're capable of beating Poland. We didn't have a single shot on target against Georgia ffs...!
Shotts56
We won in Warsaw last year in the friendly, and then drew there in the competitive game. They looked like a very average team with a superstar up front (a bit like Wales). I think they are very beatable.
