If Anya and D.Fletcher aren't fit I think it will be: Marshall Hutton Martin Hanley Whittaker (maybe Robertson but he didn't play for Hull yesterday, any idea why?) Brown McArthur Forrest Maloney Naismith Fletcher Think that will be WGS team. Think I would prefer Ritchie to Forrest, otherwise OK with that. Strachan certainly has choicse to make. If he goes with Robertson at left back I dont think he can play Anya in front of him, that left hand side partnership has struggled at times. 4 stirkers all coming with confidence having got goals at the weekend. He dropped Naismith vs Germany although I expect he will start vs. Poland. If Naismith plays behind the striker there will (or should!!) be no place for Forrest but I wouldn't rule out Naismith up front on his own with Forrest 1 of 3 playing behind him. If Maloney starts, it has to be at 10 - he's not good enough defensively to play out wide - which will allow Strachan to field a more solid/less creative pair in the middle, probably Brown and Mulgrew (if fit). Naismith has to play, and I'd imagine Forrest will get the other jersey. Hutton and Whittaker at fullback with Hanley and Martin in the middle. Marshall to continue in goal. Alan Posted October 5, 2015 Share Posted October 5, 2015 Problem for me is I don't know too much about Poland excluding Lewondowski (spelling?) who could potentially rip us a new one. Gordon - Marshall has done well as did McGregor but Gordon is by far the better keeper and it's time to get him back.Whittaker - he's playing regularly for Norwich with Martin so think that helps his case.Martin - he's a regular for Norwich and a good performer for us.Hanley - the 2nd CH disturbs me. None of them fill me with huge confidence. Hanley can be rash in the tackle. Keeping him in here as he has played with Martin a reasonable amount. What I would give for a ball playing cultured centre half.Anya - Here is a struggle. It's either Whittaker here with Hutton RB. Andy Robertson is not getting a game for Hull and is warming the bench. Anya now playing LB for Watford keeping 2 "regular" LB out of the side.McArthur - Brown has not been at his best for a good few games. Not sure how he is playing with Celtic but for Scotland it looks like he is carrying an niggling injury. He's lacking that top performance which we know he has. Previously he would be first on the team sheet for me. McArthur is playing in a confident successful team with Crystal Palace.D Fletcher - we need his experience and ability to not waste a ball. He always looks and never hides. Ritchie - He's not really showed much but I just don't get Forrest whenever I have see him for Scotland. Naismith - He's a player who can get goals for us. Never lets us down.Maloney - It's either Maloney or Jonny Russell as Maloney's form dipped a little but we know what he can do.S Fletcher - The way the team is setup he brings the midfield 3 into the game. Realistically Poland is probably a must win game with a draw making Sunday an incredibly nervous afternoon. A loss on Thursday and it's game over. I seriously hope the brief isn't to be cautious and play for the draw because we never seem to deliver when it really matters.
