Fair dues to them.

It's not pretty to watch a bit like watching us, but it's effective.

They defend much better than we do as well.

Another key thing about Ireland and under Trap too. They CAN win away, we cannot. They win in Armenia, Georgia, Macedonia (although we did last campaign), whilst we do not.

Credit to the Irish and good luck in the Euros/Playoffs.

No point in blaming him for what he is good at when our own shortcomings are based around a draw being a good result.

Bottom line is we are not even good enough to get to a third place finish to secure a play-off place to be one of the top 24 in Europe.

Our mentality is in serious need of repair.

And has been for the entirety of this century so far.

Irish here, but sorry the Scottish couldn't hold on to the win, mainly for reasons related to Ireland's chances, but it wouldn't have hurt to have had the chance for both sets of fans in France.

That pretty much nails it.

Back when we used to qualify we could go to difficult places and grind out points; and we hardly ever got beat at home. We seem to have completely lost the ability to do that now, which is we will be staying at home - again.

Far too much honesty and respect for this board.

Please leave

All the best if/when you fully qualify :ok:

As much as I don't like O'Neill at all and his brand of "football" you have to give him and the Irish immense credit

For years (even before MO'N) they have fought til the death and played to their strengths

Absolutely dreadful football team, but they're resilient. They're more likely to score a last minute equaliser than concede one.

The thought of that utter cockwomble Martin O'Neill being all over the TV next summer makes me nauseous - having said that, if he's managing a side in the finals he at least can't be a pundit, so on that basis only; C'mon Ireland.

Fair play to Ireland for getting 4 points off Germany, but they're still a shite football team.

I desperately hope that Poland beat them and that they get turfed out in the play-offs.

Spot on. They are shite and we flattered them in Dublin.

Mon the Poles

Ireland have matched the Poles on points so far and have conceded the least goals of anyone in the group. Tonight, they have beaten the world champions, and beaten the top seed in their group for the first time in many, many years. For tonight, at least, all of this makes Ireland pretty good.

Spot on jock strap. That nightmare result in Tblisi was the stake through the heart of our hopes.

Exactly that mate.

Typical Scotland, relying on the hopes of others when we should be in their predicament rather than the usual situation we have.

Frustrating!

Nowhere near close

Surely after your Thierry Henry moral crusade Jon Walters should have admitted he handballed it and was offside for his goal against us?

Or even called for the match even to be replayed?
