Bristolhibby
I'm 35 and in the same boat. This was the time to qualify. Top two and a playoff and we couldn't make it. Back to top with a playoff for 2nd for the WC qualifiers with Englandnin our group. Oh Joy! J
harrystarfish
I was an 18 year old student who couldn't afford it. Wish I'd maxed out a couple of credit cards.
Clyde1998
We haven't qualified for a major tournament in my lifetime - I felt that we could qualify for this one, but we've bottled it again.

Saint4805
It's going to be another 5 years at least. World Cups are extremely hard to qualify for these days given the limited places to European countries. If we can't overcome Ireland and Poland what chance Slovakia and Slovenia. True, and the sad thing is - if i'm not mistaken - the next Euros are all over the place at different cities / countries. So we might have missed our last realistic chance of going to a single country and camping up for 3 weeks of footballing joy.
we need to move on
I am 47 and was in france v morocco also at euro 96. My son is 8 abd i am not sure if he will ever see us in a major final. I really hope i am wrong, and perhaps it will be players of his age group that will succeed where others have failed.
Langtonian
Thankfully/ fortunately managed 5 majors the last 98,sadly reckon that will be my last
kps022000
I am 33 and the closest I have been to a major tournament was a school trip to France a week before The World Cup in 98. This was my last realistic chance for a wee while as priority shifts to starting a family over the next couple of years. If the 00's on the 10's were shit for Scotland, lets hope the 20's are better. aljay
As above. 40 this year. Was getting married not long after France 98, so skipped it since cash was needed to buy a house, on the agreement, "next time." Doubt it'll ever come. Not sure there will ever be a next time. Not even sure I'll be back for the next campaign.
Toepoke
I'm sure we'll get to a 24 team Euros eventually, a kinder draw needed though...
fraz65
We don't have any young players coming through who look likely to change things. The youngest player in tonight's line-up was James Forrest who looks fairly ordinary.

The youngest player in tonight's line-up was James Forrest who looks fairly ordinary. I think that's a real problem. Twelve years ago when we did get to the play offs we had the likes of McFadden and Fletcher coming through but now we don't have anyone like that knocking on the door. bruce778
If Northern Ireland and wales can qualify for euros, no reason why we can't. There is no telling what our team will be like in 10 years but we certainly have to be beating teams like Georgia home and away if we want to go to tournaments.
