Haggis_trap
Traffic tonight was utterly brutal! I am sure other had the same problem ?Chick young ranting on BBC Scotland about ground being half empty 10 minutes before KO was salt in the wound. Left work in Edinburgh early at 4.30pm. Took 3 hrs to reach Glasgow. No parking left anywhere near the ground. By the time we finally got parked and into the ground 20 minutes of the game were gone. We were already 1-0 down, hadn't had any dinner either, and some Poles were standing in our seats.Thought going home afterwards would be better. However got stuck for 1hr on the same street we parked (near Cathkin Park) whilst listening to entire episode of "Off the Ball" trying to get back onto the M74. Eventually got to a point where we could turn left and escaped onto the M8. Back in Edinburgh after 1am. Up at 7am for work in the morning.....Sadly might be my last mid week game at Hampden Enjoyed what I saw of the match - but seriously questioning if it is practical or worthwhile from Edinburgh..... Haggis_trap
^ Obviously my rant on the internet wont make it better However in 15 years of going to Scotland games that is by far the worst traffic I have ever seen...... And yes : I was part of it
SteveHFC
We left Dalkeith at 3 and were at Hampden for half 4. After the game it took us an hour from Asda to the M8.
Kirk
I was in my house with a ton of pakora and a Corona about an hour after it finished, hope this helps?
Bennyal
The slow train to Glasgow at half 3 from edinburgh - the one that has 20 stops - was full of poles and one direction fans, the train back at 11pm was half empty, or half full depends on your outlook

John_B81
Germany game, it took us an hour ten mins just to get onto the M74. Last night, parked at the Clutha and walked there. Walk back was 40mins, much quicker!
Faddy'sMrs
We got home to East Lothian just before 1am. Almost 1.5 hours to get to M74. We were stuck in streets surrounding Hampden for ages. Ambulance and police van (lights flashing) struggled to get through. Police on foot saw congestion and did feck all. We "only" took 2 hours to get through to the game as we took a day off work after nearly missing Germany ko due to traffic. Between adding up the holidays, trouble getting there and back and the SFA ripping off the loyal fans we are seriously considering not renewing this time round. 10+ years and never felt so pissed off. giblet
Roadworks on M8 and M74 were brutal. On way home I think a car broke down in the single lane part where the turn off on the m74 is for Edinburgh. M8 on way home again had single file traffic. Haggis_trap
^ yip : single lane traffic jam and a long tail back on the M8 at midnight......
sbcmfc
We left pretty sharp on the full time whistle and were sat at the back so got out quickly. Decided to put a jog on to get in the car and away. 1 hour later I'd moved 3 car lengths! 1 hour 45 mins it took me to get home, to put that in context, I play for an hour at Toryglen once a week, usually have a blether after and I can get there, play and get back in the house in that length of time. wee-toon-red
Ooft! I was back in Campbeltown for 1am and that's about 150 miles. Parked at Crossmyloof station area - bit of a hike back to the car but traffic wasn't too bad on the way back to the M8.
Davied14
I left my house in Prestonpans at 4.10. I got to my seat with 12 minutes of the game played.

Aye. Took ages to get out of Glasgow and then, to add feckin insult to injury, mare fecking roadworks, on the bypass at Dreghorn. Got back to Tranent at 5 minutes past 1. Scunnered and then scunnered again
PASTA Mick
I set off over an hour after kick-off and it still took over an hour to get on the motorway. In bed for 3:30am. Work today. Flying out to Portugal at 4am tomorrow. I think I might have to stop midweek matches.
Pete Gas
It's an absolute nightmare to get to. If games were at Ibrox or Parkhead I doubt the travelling will be as difficult.
peever1745
Left Montrose at 15:00 got into ground at 20:15. After the game it took me 90 mins to get out of Glasgow.Had a blast with the Poles in the Asda car park though.
sonofoi
Over an hour on Cathcart road back into city centre. I remember why I dont drive to games! Although I do remember when you used to have plod on points with the traffic lights off and traffic usually flowed quicker.
TartanJim45
Fortunately it's a problem I don't have, a ten minute walk and I'm home. I would have thought with the new section of motorway going in it would have made things a bit easier! Whatever happened to the days when the police done traffic control and switched the lights off to get the traffic moving quicker ? I suppose, this is the downside to midweek internationals. Bannannan
Disgrace that the polis dont take over traffic control, although they can't control flare throwers either.
macy37
A lot of horror stories. Pal left Eyemouth at 3.30pm and got into the ground 9 minutes in. He got home at 1.45am. He has since said 'that's enough, it's the tv for me and the kid from now on'. He was also in at work at 6.00am.
mariokempes56
Well we left Gala at 3:15 and got there approx 7:15 (only because my mate dropped us and went to park up). Bloody awful (last 3/5 games have been similar).
Alan
I do find it strange why no shuttle buses are put on ala commonwealth games especially park and ride. Park car outside area. Bus there and back.
GeeJay
On a quiet day, when there's no football or concerts on, Glasgow traffic is generally crawling speed from 4-6 in the evening. Throw in a massive gig at the Hydro, and 50k at Hampden you should really aim to be in Glasgow for 4pm at latest for 7:45 kick off. I'm lucky I stay within walk of Hampden, hope everyone got home safe last night.
