JECK
Due to the continual failure of some of our current crop of players, we've got nothing to lose by making changes and bringing in new and younger players into the squad. question is who should we be pin-pointing immediately for any games pre friendlies and the qualifiers next year? Clyde1998
Due to the continual failure of some of our current crop of players, we've got nothing to lose by making changes and bringing in new and younger players into the squad. question is who should we be pin-pointing immediately for any games pre friendlies and the qualifiers next year? Of those who are under 24 (includes some already in the squad), I think we should keep an eye on: This assumes that they are fit and playing well for their clubs. Goalkeepers - Scott Bain (Dundee) Defenders - Callum Paterson (Hearts), Andrew Robertson (Hull), Grant Hanley (Blackburn), Coll Donaldson (Dundee Utd), Aidan Connolly (Dundee Utd), Liam Cooper (Leeds), Graeme Shinnie (Aberdeen) Midfield - Stuart Armstrong (Celtic), Lewis Macleod (Brentford), Kenny McLean (Aberdeen), Ryan Jack (Aberdeen), Ryan Gauld (Sporting Lisbon), Ryan Fraser (Ipswich), John Souttar (Dundee Utd), Ryan Christie (Inverness), Matthew Kennedy (Cardiff), Billy King (Hearts), Callum McGregor (Celtic), Ryan Dow (Dundee Utd), Matt Phillips (QPR), Peter Pawlett (Aberdeen) Strikers - Stevie May (Preston), Tony Watt (Charlton) Although this just seems to have turned into a list of players who are 24 or under and it doesn't really pin point anyone... Clyde1998
A bit of a depressing list of strikers there It is, but Jordan Rhodes, Leigh Griffiths and Chris Martin are all 25-26 to give us something for the next five-six years.

Buzz
Liam Henderson has potential but unfortunately don't see any young players that have the ability to be a genuine top class player.
Peedie
We are gradually getting worse and worse in terms of players abilities, and there is no player coming up the ranks that is going to change that. We are a rank rotten footballing nation. People still looking at the positives from some of the games just take one look at the table.. we are THREE points ahead of georgia. Closer to them than we are the rest.
Clyde1998
we are THREE points ahead of georgia. Closer to them than we are the rest. It won't end up that way - they have to play Germany and we have to play Gibraltar

flynnyboy
Add Tom cairney to the list of midfielders. In my opinion better already than most we have and utterly bizarre that he hasn't been involved.

Take pawlett off that last, he's only really had one decent season for us but I completely agree with the rest. We should use the World Cup as a development campaign and make the next euros the aim. The current squad never come close so it's time to move on. I can't see this happening though, strachan is too loyal

Maybe he still harbours England hopes.
er yir macaroon
Lewis Macleod will bring us regular goals from midfield in the next campaign.
Langtonian
We should use the World Cup as a development campaign and make the next euros the aim. Spot on.Time to ditch trying to qualify at all costs which were doing a poor job of anyway and start development. The supporters would have to accept/ buy into some poor results along the way, like just now
