I don't really have a problem with this.

Says derek fae Japan... :)

How long before they bring in spot fines for going on to seditious websites like Wings over Scotland? I object to the UK government having the power to build up a profile on anyone they want.

Maybe we should all start searching for "David Cameron is a " a Hundred times a day each. Do you think he'd get the message?

So aparentley every internet user in the UK for the next year will have their internet history stored.

Creepy bastards.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-34715872http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-34715872

Such data would consist of a basic domain address, and not a full browsing history of pages within that site or search terms entered.

For example, police could see that someone visited www.bbc.co.uk - but not the individual pages they viewed.

I've just checked and the domain name http://davidcameronshagspigs.co.uk/ is available to buy.

Just saying.

It's sinister stuff. Can you imagine the government trying to get through proposals to somehow store and access data on every physical newspaper, magazine, or book you read, every film or television programme you watched, every radio broadcast you listened to, everyone you spoke to and every piece of correspondence you sent or received? Somehow because it's 'the internet' and not analogue it's OK...

Few ways to be more anonymous to your ISP;

The government must think we're fukkin stupid. Terrorists aren't daft. If they want to communicate anonymously, they will and they'll use all the (currently) unbreakable encryption techniques.

I don't really think it's foiling terrorists that is the goal here though.

There's money to be made in the VPN business now the government has announced this. :ok:

Not picking on you specifically, but this attitude is the most frightening part of all this to me. So many people don't give two shits about all this mass surveillance when they should actually be outraged.
