Was Gary Locke the worst ever Killie manager? Statistically and Actually.

Dundee Utd put 5 past Killie

Dundee put 4 past Killie

Thistle put 5 past Killie

Hamilton put 4 past Killie..

They are the ones off the top of my head.any more?

I presume even in the relegation years things werent as band as that....

Thanx

Interesting stuff

Mixu in the top 5.. best since 1969....

i thought Shields was better.. but 3rd worst or only Locke worse that him since war.

Has there ever been a season ( half a season)  when the immediate teams around Killie have won with such ease and scored so many...

Willie Waddell is impressive

6 managers called Jim/Jimmie/James

Motherwell (A) 1-4

Dundee (A) 2-5

Dundee Utd (A) 0-7

Celtic 0-4

Morton (A) 0-3

Dundee Utd 0-5

Celtic (A) 0-4

Hibs (A) 1-8

Dundee Utd 0-4

Celtic 0-5

Aberdeen (A) 0-5

Needless to say we came bottom

Aye they were Champions that season.

They also beat us 7-0 in 1981. One of those games is on youtube, it's too painful to search for though.

The 80's were strange times for football.

Kenny Shiels had some poor runs of results. But had the knack of beating the Old Firm like no other Killie boss I've known.

He was the hoodoo buster:

First win v Rangers at new Rugby Park (17 years).

First win over Celtic in Glasgow for 55 years.

First win at Celtic Park in 57 years.

First League Cup win, 60 years after Killie's first final.

About the only jinx he didn't break was knocking Rangers out the Scottish Cup, 78 years and counting! We should maybe have given him a caretaker job for the cup tie...

The 70s?

There was a six year period where Ayr finished above Killie, their most successful time under Ally McLeod.

They've only been Ayrshire's top team 20 times since the club was founded in 1910.

I used to be disappointed when I went to Tannadice in those days and they didn't score at least four.  Didn't happen often right enough.

As well as all the Killie pumpings they would regularly get a bucketload against Morton, Motherwell and Hearts.  Happy days.
