Presumably because of the 100 year old Irish connection.

Debian
We've had the opposite down our way in the South of Scotland Football League. The winners this season (License permitting) were guaranteed to go up to the Lowland League as no licensed club could win the East of Scotland League. Upon this information being released, Wigtown and Bladnoch - who up until this point were undefeated - have suddenly hit a dodgy patch allowing Edusport Academy to reach for the summit. Wigtown and Bladnoch have admitted the additional costs in moving up to the Lowland League would cripple them, and ultimately would rather take a financial penalty than move up. Denny's Yard
If Cowdenbeath finish bottom and then Buckie beat EK and Cowden, what league would Cowden go into?

No chance Buckie will go up. Zero desire within the club to go up. Half the squad is on a stag-do for the first leg of the playoffs, and a wedding for the second leg. Almost free money backing EK. I expect an extra team would be promoted. Happens everywhere when they are regionalised leagues.
Gala Tartan Army (Borders)
Not sure about Highland League, but in Lowland League which I regularly watch there is a real desire to go up through the play offs. I think EK will do it this season already beaten Cowdenbeath in Scottish Cup
ibelieve!!!
Was Buckie not the only team to vote against the pyramid system?
