Young Kirsty is either being Naive there, or deliberitely stirring up shite, Cove tells me she's alright so I'll give her the benefit of the doubt.  Every single count I've ever been at there has always been an applause for the winner.  Allan Wilson (Lab) applauded Kenny Gibson (SNP), Patrcia Gibson (SNP) applauded Katy Clark (LAB), Katy Clark (LAB) applauded Patricia Gibson (SNP).

Turns out young Kirsty was right to be surprised... She meant the Tories in Aberdeen were applauding at the Baillie result, not the ones present at the Baillie count.

Is that really any more surprising than so called "socialists" applauding "the Baillie count".

That's not a very nice way to talk about your elected representative, by the way.

WoS is crowd funded by thick folk who think he benefits the independence movement... Not elected.

The good thing is that it is now clear as day what the choice is

Independence or Conservative Unionism

Labour telling us that it's not is now a dead dog

even if every green vote had gone SNP in central, fife, NE and weej the snp wouldnae have gained

Top link.

Imagine, just imagine, a SNP-Green Yes-Alliance championing an SNP/Green ticket. SNP would probably be on the same number of seats they are today and Greens would be upward of 25 seats.

It's the clear choice of what you want the future to be

Aye. The both votes SNP mantra was a load of keech.

Folk like WOS, ScotGoesPop and Derek Bateman really should shut their pus

I'm a SNP member and it was obvious that it was Green 2nd vote.

Quote

What if all Greens had voted SNP?

If the Green party had disbanded before the election and all their voters had cast their list vote for the SNP instead, the SNP would have gained the six seats that the Greens won in reality. Neither more nor less. In other words, the Yes parties would still have won 69 seats in total. Strangely, however, it would have moved one seat from the Tories in South Scotland to Labour in Mid Scotland and Fife.

What if all SNP voters had voted Green on the list?

If the SNP had formed some sort of Yes alliance with the Greens and told all their supporters to vote Green on the list, it would have cost them the four seats mentioned above. However, it would have had huge consequences for the other parties: Greens 37 (+31), Tories 16 (–15), Labour 13 (–11), Lib Dems 4 (–1).

Sounds good in theory but I'm not sure that would be allowed. If they had a formal "alliance" would they not be considered as one party for the purposes of the D'hondt system? Otherwise what would stop the SNP saying we are standing as the "Yellow SNP" for the constituency vote and the "Pink SNP" for the regional vote?

I fear for Scotland if Davidson is going to spend the next 5 years doing nothing more than waving the Union flag and screaming 'no referendum' every 10 minutes.

She's only one step away from Northern Ireland style Loyalism as it is.

A so an empirical study of the figures, far from " reckless self-interest from the Greens and naive stupidity on the list" it was reckless self interest from the SNP that cost well over a dozen YES seats.

OR every party puts out it's views and folk vote on them.

It's a fair point. Im pretty sure parties in the past have campaigned on a split vote though. Cant think off top of head who right enough. But even if the follow-through wasnt perfect, you telling me you'd feel like you do now if Greens had pulled in a haul of 15 MSPs?

True, Jackson Carlaw and Alex Johnstone would relish such a scenario.

Would be f***ing hilarious if she does though. Im hoping for some blatant British nationalism from the Tories over the next 5 years just to drive home what it is Unionists are voting for.

Got it in one, it would be illegal.

It seems at least one Tory is a WATP dude. Interesting to have a protestant supremacist in Parliament.
