Having a read of the wiki page it sounds decent. Like the idea of a penalty shoot out in drawn games for a bonus point.

With these games starting in mid July the draw can't be too far after the end of the season. 8 groups of 5 teams.

Does anyone know what the deal is with the groups? I'm guessing there will be some sort of seeding but will they be regionalised too?

There was a bit about it in the Thistle programme yesterday. Definitely seeded as Thistle know they won't have another Premier team in their group. That's about all they know though, so no idea yet if it's regionalised. That would make sense, but it is the SPFL we're talking about.

Without a UEFA cup spot, it's just a pishy posh Petrofac cup

I know, winning a trophy is such a waste of time unless we can enter a competition which we have no chance in hell of winning. Get rid of the league cup

As there are 9 SPFL teams not in Europe, one of the groups will have two SPFL teams.

Rangers are still classed as a Diddy team and are therefore unseeded.
