Rate your team's season

Recommended Posts

Right. Time again to give judgement on your team. Use the template below and copy in your answers.... :-)

1. Your team ?

2. Rating for the season ?

3. High point(s) ?

4. Low points(s) ?

5. Your manager.....Sir Alex or Jackie Mac ?

6. Top man....sell the family silver to keep him ?

7. Useless haddie....where's the list of taxi companies ?

8. What/who do we need ?

9. Hopes for next season ?

OK, obviously I'll go first.... :-)

1. Aberdeen

2. 6/10

3. Beating Celtic twice. The fantastic start we had.

4. Losing in the first round of both cups (although they were hard ties). Our inability to beat organised teams that fight hard.

5. Somewhere in the middle. This is a big, big season for him coming up.

6. Last season..Johnny Hayes. Often the only spark of invention when others had given up against ICT, Ross County etc.

7. For me, Ryan Jack. Underwhelming, hides when the going gets tough. Obvious weak link in a powderpuff midfield.

8. A keeper. Consistent central defender.  A hard as f*ck central midfielder. Another goalscorer to partner Rooney.

9. Better cup runs. We're not going to win the league, and one League cup win aside, McInnes's record in the cups is shocking. Time to put that right.

It's all yours.....

1. Rangers

2. 7.5/10

3. Completely changing the style of football and getting all of the overpaid shyte off the wagebill.  The cup semi as well obviously

4. Saturday.

5. After years of McCoist Warburton is a complete breath of fresh air.

6. Probably Lee Wallace.  The emergence of Barrie McKay has been a real plus too.

7. Danny Wilson.  Not sure what's happened to him but he's going backwards at an alarming rate of knots.  Dean Shiels also seems to have forgotten how to play football or even stand up

8. Strengthening our central defence is an absolute must.  As well as that we need to sign a proper centre forward, not one who can play anywhere along the front line without specialising in any.  The stats from the cup semi and final where we dominated possession but had a fraction of the shots on goal are compelling.  We need to add a bit of experience to a young squad and could do with a bit of strength in depth as Saturday's bench proved.

9. Anything from 4 upwards would be a real success.

1. Aberdeen

2. 6.5/10

3. The 3-0 win away in Rejika

4. Losing and not replacing Danny Ward. Every Aberdeen fan knew Scott Brown would cost us double figures in points, yet McInnes chose to use him, so frustrating. Honourable mentions to losing at Hearts in the Cup and the capitulation for a month which ruined our outstanding start.

5. The best manager we've had in a long time. I'd urge frustrated Aberdeen fans to remember where we were 5 years ago.

6. Greame Shinnie. Consistently excellent all season. Where as Hayes didn't start playing until January.

7. Of the players remaining at Pittodrie - Ash Taylor. A 6 foot 5 inch shitebag, who's incapable of standing up to a physical battle.

8. A competent 'keeper and a big hard in the middle of the park.

9. 2nd place again and keep the pressure on Celtic. Winning the Scottish Cup.

1. Aberdeen

2. 7/10

3. European wins and Celtic x2 at home

4. January

5. Wonder about McInnes as a motivator. We have a few players who just don't seem to get work ethic and effort. That said, best manager we've had in many, many years.

6. Shinnie (with Hayes running him very close)

7. Kenny McLean.  Lazy, whinging, useless, feck.  The worst thing that could have happened to someone like him was getting a Scotland cap.  Jack and Reynolds have also deteriorated considerably.

8. Keeper and two disgusting idiots in the middle of the park.

9. Group stages in Europe, 2nd place and a cup win. (Would take any one of the 3 to be honest!).

1. Killiemarnock

2. 2/10

3. Playoff Final 2nd Leg

4. Being in a Playoff final.

5. I'm happy to give him time.  Football is a notable improvement over the previous.

6. *whispers* Rogan

7. Rogan

8. MJ oot!

9. A comfortable midtable finish and a decent cup run.

1. Motherwell

2. 5.5/10

3.  Not being in the playoffs  Picking up wins at Celtic Park and at Hamilton was nice.

4. The pumpings off Celtic and Hearts and the game against East Fife

5. Barraclough was useless but I liked him..McGhee has brought some stability even if he is fud at times. Often overthinks things I reckon but looking forward to another season from him

6. Louis Moult. 15 league goals for Motherwell aint bad at all. Marvin Johnson looks like he is becoming more consistent as well

7. Joe Chalmers. Pretty sure he isn't a footballer. Then you remember we signed David Clarkson and Theo Robinson as well...

8. A Keeper. I'm sure Samson would be competent enough but think we can do better - maybe even a loan signing again. Need to really look at proper replacements for Hammell and Lasley. Seems to be plenty of promise in the youth team just now so hopefully make up the rest of the squad from there.

9. As with most teams a cup run. Looks like the top 4 is pretty much sewn up next year so sneaking into the top 6 is probably as good as it can get.

1. The (the) 'the' Der Rangers

2. 7/10

3. Complete overhaul to our backroom attitude and approach, scouting system and youth system. Comfortably winning the league, defeating 3 Prem teams end route to the SC Final.

4. Saturday. Just horrible.

5. See answer 3. He is at the centre of the majority of the changes. Very pleased so far.

6. Few contenders.  Miller, Wallace, Waghorn. Ill go for Mackay though. Big year for him coming up.

7. Also a few that I could choose from. Shiels and Clark will be away I think. Ill go for Wilson though as he has played almost every game and he has done nothing to convince me that he's good enough. Will be a complete liability next season imo.

8. Our squad is fairly small, so a bit more depth required which in fairness is being addressed.

In terms of staring Xl we need guys right down the spine of the team. Centre Half and Centre Mid are an absolute priority but a Striker and Goalkeeper are also needed.

9. Continuing to progress on and off the field has to be the overall aim. Getting rid of that oaf Ashley and the club in a solid financial position are priorities. I think we are all waiting for the next set of accounts to see where we have actually come. In terms of the football, second has to be the goal, given our budget. I accept that won't be easy. Another cup run would be good but not a priority.

1. Rangers

2. 7/10. Achieved promotion which was the main target for the season. Good to claim to the Petrofac after 4 attempts at it and the Scottish cup final was a bonus.

3. Beating 3 premier league teams and generally improving everything around the club after 3 years of mismanagement.

4. The St Johnstone game and the Scottish Cup final.

5. Light years ahead of the previous incumbent. Needs to improve the defence but the style of football he encourages really is great.

6. Still Lee Wallace.

7. Nicky Clark. Absolutely brainless and is unable to play in a team that wants to keep the ball.

8. Centre backs and more depth across the squad in general.

9. 2nd should be the aim without a doubt but there is a lot of work to be done for that to happen.

1. Your team ?

United

2. Rating for the season ?

0/10

3. High point(s) ?

None

4. Low points(s) ?

Losing all five pre-season matches with a goal difference of 3 for, 14 against.
Darko Bodul.
Starting the season with no proper goalie, experienced centre half or a striker.
Rodney Sneijder's 20 minutes against Aberdeen.
Letting the Dees back in for a draw from 2-0 down.
0-4 v Hamilton.  Hamilton!
1-2 v Killie at Tannadice.
1-2 v St J after scoring first against ten men.
0-3 v Partick in Bowman's game in charge.
0-5 v Celtic when Mixu told them all they were pish.
Gavin Gunning.
0-3 v Hibs in the cup.
1-2 v St J after scoring first.
1-2 v Hamilton after scoring first.
0-1 v Partick at Tannadice.
1-2 v Dundee after scoring first.
Waiting two months to sign Kawashima then discovering he was average.
0-3 v Motherwell.
Riku Riski.
1-2 v Motherwell after scoring first.
Where is Robbie Muirhead?
Losing 1-0 to Jags despite pummeling them first half.
0-2 v ICT.
1-3 v Hamilton in one of the worst displays witnessed at Tannadice in 100 years.
Relegated by Dundee and going to be in the division below them for the first time in 53 years.

But the winner is GAVIN GUNNING.

5. Your manager.....Sir Alex or Jackie Mac ?

Literally Jackie Mac.  Replacement no better.

6. Top man....sell the family silver to keep him ?

Already sold them all.

7. Useless haddie....where's the list of taxi companies ?

Kawashima, Dillon,Dixon, Paton, Telfer, Durnan, Szromnik, Anier, Donaldson, McKay, Bodul, Demel, Gunning, Zwick, Morris, Dow, Ofere.  There's more I'm sure.

8. What/who do we need ?

An entire new squad.

9. Hopes for next season ?

Anything less than promotion is complete and utter failure.

1. Your team  - Dundee.

2. Rating for the season  - 4/10, generally disappointing again.

3. High point(s) None really, I suppose most Dundee fans would say relegating Utd at Dens, but they were down anyway, it was quite funny, but not a high point.

4. Low points(s) Getting gubbed in the League Cup by Dunfermline, getting humped by Rangers in the Scottish Cup

5. Your manager - useless annoying twat who thinks draws are great, dont understand why he is hyped up.

6. Top man - Harkins, yes he is fat and slower than me, but he can actually play. Stewart is over rated and Hemmings is a finisher, nothing more. Maybe Bain who is a good keeper, but too wee to really make it.

7. Useless haddie - Kevin Thomson aka wage thief, or Nicky Low aka is he really a fitba player FFS.

8. What/who do we need  - pretty much a new defence, defensive midfelder and a striker.

9. Hopes for next season - should be aiming for top six, but would like a good cup run for once.

Cant believe that was still this season . Seems a long time ago.

1. Your team ? Huddersfield Town

2. Rating for the season ? 6/10

3. High point(s) ? 4-1 away win at Leeds.

4. Low points(s) ? 3-0 home defeat to Leeds.

5. Your manager.....Sir Alex or Jackie Mac ? David Wagner; replaced Chris Powell early in the season. He has turned us into an exciting attacking team, in the top half dozen goals scored in the division. I'm fairly sure we'd have been relegated without the change

6. Top man....sell the family silver to keep him ? Nakhi Wells grabs the headlines but Emyr Huws (on loan from Wigan) was a key player. If there's a chance of bringing him back, I would. We also had Ben Chilwell on loan (Left Back) from Leicester for a while...he looks the real deal & one to watch.

7. Useless haddie....where's the list of taxi companies ? If we could match our decent goal scoring record by not conceding we'd be up there. Mark Hudson has been a good captain for us but a mediocre defender & apart from Ben Chilwell for a month, we haven't really had a full back worthy of the name.

8. What/who do we need ? A back four that can defend.

9. Hopes for next season ? With Villa & Newcastle in the Championship as well as half a dozen other wealthy clubs I think if we get within striking ditance of the top 10 we'll have done well.

1. Celtic

2. 4/10

3. Beating Motherwell 7-0.

4. Losing to Rangers and lack of progress in Europe.

5. Likable but glad he has moved on.

6. Griffiths and Tierney.

7. Boyata. Signed with high hopes but worse than Ambrose.

8. A centre-back and another forward.

9. 6IAR and Champions League football.

4. Low points(s) ? Not having to endure the rangers circus next season.

5. Your manager.....Sir Alex or Jackie Mac ? Surely the only man to relegate two teams in one season.

6. Top man....sell the family silver to keep him ? no one, all selt to celtic.

7. Useless haddie....where's the list of taxi companies ?

8. What/who do we need ? Complete cleanout

9. Hopes for next season ? Some one to come up with 10 questions at the end of the season. Seriously, nine!!!

1. Hearts

2. 5.5/10

3. As a promoted team the way we started the season up until christmas

4. The second half of the season, mainly the Scottish cup exit and the way the season fizzled out after that

5. Somewhere in the middle, need to learn the lessons from this season

6. Djoum has been the pick of the bunch this season but I suppose Paterson is the most valuable

7. Juanma, Reilly, Buaben and Oshaniwa can all share a taxi

8. A goalkeeper, an attacking midfielder and a couple of strikers

9. Top three and winning a cup would be good

2. Rating for the season ? 7/10

3. High point(s) ?  Securing the title, beating Celtic in SCSF

4. Low points(s) ? Last Saturday, The St Johnstone Game

5. Your manager.....Sir Alex or Jackie Mac ? 7.5/10. Refreshing change in style an substance. Needs a Plan B and needs to get a new Central Defence.

6. Top man....sell the family silver to keep him ? Lee Wallace - solid all year. Kenny Miller - wish he was 10 years younger. Barrie McKay progressing well.

7. Useless haddie....where's the list of taxi companies ? Nicky Clark - it's like watching a baby foal with mouldies on in a frozen pitch

8. What/who do we need ? - A new Centre Half pairing. Less reliance on loanees.

9. Hopes for next season ? - European Qualification via the league. A cup.

1. Your team - Partick Thistle

2. Rating for the season - 7/10

3. High point(s) - The board sticking with Archibald after only picking up 3 points from the first 9 games. Many clubs would have panicked, but they realised performances were better than the results suggested and that the new signings were just beginning to bed in.

4. Low points(s) - 3 points after 9 games and losing 1-0 at Ross County in the last game before the split when a draw would have meant top 6.

5. Your manager.....Sir Alex or Jackie Mac - the longest serving manager in the Premiership at 3 and a half years and developing year on year. He just gets on with the job and only ever worries about his own team. Never gets involved in mind games in the media. He readily admits that we were more concerned with being solid this season and didn't score enough goals and has plans to work on that next season.

6. Top man....sell the family silver to keep him - Tomas Cerny deservedly won most of the player of the year awards, but for me Stuart Bannigan was our driving force and he'll be a huge loss.

7. Useless haddie....where's the list of taxi companies  - Matthias Pogba. Hard to believe Paul is his brother. Slow, cumbersome, lazy, can't jump. 2 goals (both against Accies) from 30 games as a centre forward says it all. Sadly a 1 year extension kicked in when he hit 25 appearances.

8. What/who do we need  - a replacement for Bannigan, a centre half and another striker to support Doolan that's not Pogba!

9. Hopes for next season - top 6 and a good cup run (for the 1st time in god knows how many years!). The club has more stability than I can ever remember. No debt, the management team on new 3 year contracts and more players than usual on 2 or 3 year contracts. The days of 1 year contracts and summers scrambling to put together a new squad seem to finally be in the past.

One point?  I'd hate to see what we needed to constitute a zero.
