3 Peaks Challenge

Recommended Posts

At the end of July, 6 members of Fair City Tartan Army will be tackling the 3 Peaks Challenge to raise funds for the Tartan Army Sunshine Appeal. They will be climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon - in 24 hours.

We have a benefactor who has generously agreed to sponsor the cost of hiring of a minibus. Thank you to Andrew Hughes Logistics Ltd.

We have a volunteer driver.

Would anyone be interested in sponsoring the guys in terms of covering the minibus fuel costs for the event?

It came round quickly and starts tomorrow at the foot of Ben Nevis, ending Saturday (hopefully less than 24 hours later) on the return from the top of Snowdon (via Scafell Pike).

We have the cost of the minibus hire covered by Andrew Hughes Logistics, accommodation by Thompson Solicitors (Glasgow) and fuel costs by Jim Wilson of Lanark.

If you could spare a few pounds in sponsoring the guys it would be very much appreciated.

Many, many thanks to everyone who have so far sponsored the four guys from Fair City Tartan Army doing the 3 Peaks Challenge.

The aim was to climb to the summit of the highest peaks in the three countries making up Great Britain - all within 24 hours.

Ben Nevis (in Scotland), Scafell Pike (in England) and Snowdon ( in Wales).

They smashed it!!

They climbed over 10000 feet, walked over 25 miles and travelled 935 miles........in 21 hours 57 minutes!!

If you'd like to recognise the achievement of Neil Kirk, Ally Smith, George Corstorphine and Andy Wilson in raising funds for the Tartan Army Sunshine Appeal, their BT Donate Page is still open.

Thanks to them for their magnificent effort and achievement, and to everyone who has contributed to our funds by sponsoring them.

Everywhere We Go.

"Well we got over the £5,000 mark for doing the 24 hour Three Peaks Challenge in under 22 hours which is really is a tremendous amount of money. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated over the last few months, myself, George, Neil, Andy and John really do appreciate it. Andy has already convinced us to sign up for next years challenge - The Stirling Marathon.(anyone who wants to join the fun is more than welcome) If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them....maybe you can join The A-Team
