Group stages finished (aside from Yinited v Pars tomorrow).

Seeded teams for the next round are ....

Celtic, Aberdeen, Hearts, Hibs, Rangers, Partick Thistle, Alloa (bizarrely) and Morton.

Non-seeded are...

East Fife, St Johnstone, Sneckie, Hamilton, QoS, Motherwell, Ayr, and either United or Dunfermline (if one wins).

I think.

Having just had my first experience of his new team you may actually have a point....

Even with big Josh the Mighty, Killie are a stick on for relegation.

Is it not the European spots plus best group winners though, which is pretty fair?

It states that but it's ludicrous to place a team like Hibs in a seeded spot above a much better side than say Saints.

Seems perfectly fair to me. The original seedings were based on last seasons league finish. Winning the Scottish Cup is better than finishing 9th in the premiership so being seeded is fair enough.

Haven't looked at the tables but thought Caley might be seeded with 3 wins and 1 draw and a plus 12 goal difference but obviously not.

Hibs played half a dozen games to win the cup. Saints finished the 4th best team in the country last season but they are seeded above us? That's insane.

Yes. Winning the Scottish Cup is better than finishing 4th, so gets a better reward. It's also harder to do. How many times have St. Johnstone finished in the top 4 compared to winning the Scottish Cup.

A team who plays in a league lower should not be seeded higher than the 4th best team in the country.

If they win the Scottish Cup they should. It doesn't happen often that a lower league team wins the cup but they did so they get the rewards that goes with it.

There won't be many fans who would chose 4th in the premiership over a  Scottish Cup win. It's the better achievement for most fans.

Correct. It's only happened twice, so unlikely to be a regular issue.

You'd expect normal service will be resumed next season and Rangers won't be participating in the group stage either.
