On a more positive note, 50 Scots in the GB team, making up 14% of it. So I guess we're punching above our weight. A legacy of Glasgow 2014?

mmm Not really much to crow about, as New Zealand have nearly 200 Athletes going to Rio.

A country about the same size as ours.

50 Athletes is IMO a pathetic state of affairs...........

All seems a bit of a farce with the IOC now saying it's up to the governing bodies of each individual sport to determine who is allowed to compete. Passing the buck. Getting to the stage that every medal won will have a hint of "aye, but are they on drugs?" about it.

And WTF is Olympic Golf about? If it's not the pinnicle of the sport, it shouldn't be at the Olympics.

They're all corrupt.  Seb Coe is as dirty as the lot of them. BBC venerate the guy too.  Look how many companies he's non-exec director of that win all the contracts for goods and services at these events...

They're all at it, we're led to believe all these athletes get colds/flus, tip top conditions but need to take X every other month, so they have to take all these cures etc..the line is thin.  It's just about being just the right side of it.

Football is the big one they won't touch.  The German press are the only one's properly running with this..

Heard that some English burd has missed 3 drug tests but she is still allowed to compete. Something fishy going on here, I think.

Lizzie Armistead. Uk Cycling even funded her legal costs in her fight against UKAD.

Pretty poor comparison really.

New Zealand represent themselves and dont make up part of another team. I'd imagine that if it was an Anzac team then there would be far less Kiwis.

Even less if it was say an Australasia outfit.

It's okay to miss drugs tests if you're British.

"It's such a bloody shame there isn't a Team GB in the football event."
