Bronze for Eilidh Doyle in the 4x400 relay.

GOOD PERTH QUINE. :ok:

I think the Scots athletes have done pretty well on the whole. As well as Doyle, Sharp, McColgan, Butchart all through to finals and with pbs or seasons best.  O'Hare ran well in his first heat but not sure what happened in the semi final, he was running really well and seemed to have got his tactics spot on but it just didn't work out.

Glad it's over

Absolute overkill

Constant repeats and analysis never off the TV

Was if there was absolutely fvck all else happening in the world

If i never hear Andrew Cotter and Steve Cram's banal commentary again it will be too soon

Over 600 amateur fights is unbelievable. Especially in those times when it was much, much harder.

An old coach of mine, Jack Dormer, had over 500 and once told me he fought at 3 different weights in the same night. He would have had his scheduled bout, had a couple of beers after it then got the call that he was needed again as someone was a no show.

Even in his 60's he could hit like a mule.

Poor Jack got a bit punchy though.

That's just a crazy amount of bouts. Don't make them like that anymore!

I should have said headlines and top story but im sure you knew that

If you think a 10 minute Olympic report before say that of a 12 year old Turkish wedding suicide bomber is fine i dont believe you would be the best teacher

jambo loving doughnut who recently had this to say about a Scottish Olympic team after independence.

“You want to represent your club, then you want to try to represent Scotland and then the next step is representing Great Britain, so I think it would lose a bit of value. I’m hoping that by the time it all sorts itself out I’ll be retired.”

From a self interest point of view Eilidh now has an Olympic medal she probably wouldn't have got representing Scotland.  You can see why from that perspective so many Scottish Team GB members are opposed to competing separately.

That womens' 4x400 team would be a dentists dream btw...

She's actually from Kinross but works in Perth. She's a PE teacher at Perth Grammar School.
