Whether any of the following they were any good or not is obviously up for debate (Williams & Canero got snookered by injury) but those who eventually played for the senior team were: 

Stephen Crainey (12 caps 2002-2011), Peter Canero (1 cap 2004), Gary Caldwell (it's probably him* 55 caps & 2 goals 2002-2013), Ian Murray (6 caps 2002-2006), Brian Kerr (3 caps 2003-2004), Stephen Hughes (1 cap 2009), Maurice Ross (13 caps 2002-2003), Stephen McManus (26 caps & 2 goals), Gareth Williams (5 caps 2002).

Mark Brown, Tam McManus, Darren Mackie, Gary McDonald, Derek Soutar and Chris Doig have had varying fortunes in their club careers. Where are Ross, Canero, Williams, Kerr, Mackie, McDonald, Soutar etc at the present ?

And just who were mystery men: Cocozza (Celtic), Mathie (Coventry), O'Brien (Blackburn), McHale (Rangers), McLaren (Hamilton), Gibson (Rangers), McCann (Celtic), Keogh (Celtic) and McParland (Celtic) ?

The O'Brien at Blackburn is Burton O'Brien who was one of two kids at St Mirren (think David McNamee was the other) who made a high profile move to Blackburn that got a lot of people excited, but both could not break into the team and ended up at Livingston, with only McNamee getting capped (think he is at Cowdenbeath now).

Marc Cocozza at Celtic I seem to recall moved to Dundee United before dropping down into the Junior Leagues for the majority of his career.

Burton O'Brien and David McNamee, O'Brien is at Cowdenbeath, McNamee got 4 caps in his time and done the better of the two down south. He retired two years ago and is now in the Navy.

Peter Canero was extremely unlucky with injury and had to retire in his mid 20s. Still see him at Killie games, he's working an an engineer on the huge windmills you see. Nice guy.

Gary McDonald is playing with Kilwinning Rangers now (he's 34) but had a decent enough career with Killie, Oldham, Aberdeen, Hamilton, Morecombe, St Johnstone and Peterhead with over 400 senior games and just shy of 50 goals from midfield. Another decent guy (and Killie fan!)

That's actually not a bad return in terms of internationals from an under 18 age group.  One player in the hall of fame and a number of others capped.  There is always a fallout from age group teams with players being hampered by injury, not kicking on as was expected or simply being not good enough in the first place.  

When that group went on to U21s under Rainer Bohnhof - which I thought was an exceptional group - the two that stuck out for me were Stephen Hughes and Brian Kerr, neither of who really kicked on.

Peter Canero was also just about a wonderkid on football manager in his early days. Back then FM loved to make a scottish random a potential star; Mark Kerr, Paul Gallacher, Austin McCann, Paul Jarvie.....

Darren Mackie was a 40 goals a season machine in the early 00's editions of FM..... How wrong they were

Fairly sure that'd be Jimmy Gibson, midfield player that ended up at Partick Thistle? Only played a couple of games for the first team.

The other would have been Paul McHale, another midfielder who never featured for the first team & ended up at Dundee?

To be fair they were up against Jorg Albertz & Barry Ferguson as rivals for that role as well as the likes of Neil McCann, Van Bronckhorst, Reyna & Kanchelskis for a midfield spot.

Looking around, looks like Mathie gave up playing pretty early after a spell at Motherwell and took up coaching, with 3 years at Celtic, a couple of years with the SFA and recently at Hibs in their youth development.

The McCann I suspect will be Ryan McCann who moved on to St Johnstone then spent the rest of his career rotating between QoS and the likes of Ayr United and Airdrie, and Keogh will be Liam Keogh who spent most his career at ICT after he left Celtic..... McParland is most likely Tony McParland who is/was at Irvine Meadow.

The player in this instance was Billy Gibson who went from Rangers to Partick Thistle in 2004.

Jimmy Gibson whoc was born in 1980, was eighteen months older than Billy.

Jimmy signed in 2005.

Billy arrived as a right back/right midfielder.

Closest player I can find is Willie McLaren, who was only in their youth team at the time, and went on to play for Airdrie and St Johnstone, before dropping down and ending up in the Juniors at the likes of Kilwinning and Irvine

Ross McLaren a Bellshill lad joined Accies in 2000. Played as a defender in the Armenia game.

I played school football with Keogh,decent guy,think he stopped playing football after ICT,may play locally,but unsure. 

Was always gonna be tough to break into the Celtic team,although he did play at least a couple,including at pittodrie for them. 

He was also on the front page (possibly) of the green final doing an overhead kick as a child,I would like to say I provided the inch perfect cross for it,but I probably didn't.

Was on trial at a few clubs down south,I remember him coming into pe with all the Derby clobber on  before he settled for Celtic

O Brien and McNamee both looked excellent as youngsters at St Mirren and it was Joe Royle who took them to Blackburn however he lost his job and his successor Souness never fancied either of them.

They both had decent spells at Livi though.

O Brien was touted for a call up for South Africa which dragged on for ages and eventually never happened.

Ross McLaren was a promising defender, but had to give up the game as a young lad when Dougie Imrie (then at Clyde) accidentally stamped on his neck whilst they were both going in for a tackle.  It was horrible watching the game get abandoned and an ambulance sitting parked on the pitch pumping his chest.  He survived, but had to retire straight away.  A real shame as he looked pretty decent.

I think he made a comeback a few years later in the juniors, but couldnt be sure.

I never realised Burton O'Brien was Scots.

He played for Sheff. Wednesday for 3 seasons but was always referred to as South African?

He played for our U21's but tried to switch to SA later in his career.

He was born in Johannesburg I think.

I saw him as a 17 year old excelling for St Mirren, very surprised he didn't do better with his career.

his dad billy keogh is/was a bells hotel/lounge legend,now its shut I often see him in the foundry with his usual guiness..(legend in footy and drinking....)
