Half of America will hate you for that...

Well quite. And think of the froth sundry fvckwits get into over which flag flies over official buildings, not least in Northern Ireland, though it happens here too. In general terms anyone waving a flag, or getting worked up about someone else doing so, takes a bit of watching.

In general, anyone making a big thing about flags, good chance he/she is a rocket. Flags somehow seem to attract those who just can't keep a sense of perspective about things. As an example, if someone  has a flagpole in their front garden they are an arsehole, don't care what flag they stick up it. But I respect and rather admire what some of the Celtic fans did last night.

Those who don't have a flag pole in their garden need to be watched...

Zoroastrianism has a hell of a lot to answer for

I have one but bugger all on it. The houses here all come complete with one when they are built. I'm deadly serious btw. No joke.

Ffs, how hard can it be just to explain what you meant. You said "the history between the Catholics and the Jews", what are you on about exactly? Also, what is this " Catholic / Jew card" you speak of?  Are you assuming Catholics out of all the Christian denominations have some kind of particular beef with Jews that other Christians don't have? (Are you from the Middle Ages?)

He doesnt need to explain unless you want a history lesson

The belief that Jesus is God, the Son of God, or a person of the Trinity, is incompatible with Jewish theology. Jews believe Jesus did not fulfill messianic prophecies that establish the criteria for the coming of the messiah

Thanks but you're not getting the point. I'd like to know what this Catholic / jew thing is exactly. What you have described is not specific to Catholicism.

I have three friends alone who have seats in that GB section. All they ever post on social media is pro Catholic/Anti Jew tripe. For the record, I'm Catholic...

Me too and a practising one at that, and given that I have no idea what you're talking about I think it's safe to assume this Catholic/Jew card you speak of doesn't exist. I'd love an example of a "pro Catholic/ anti jew" social media post. I've seen plenty of anti Zionist stuff however. Anyway, as you've seen plenty it shouldn't be too hard to give an example.

Of course it's not specific to Catholicism - it's a Christianity/Judaism thing

However the largest Christian denomination (and for hundreds of years) is the Catholic Church and therefore has the most to gain/lose

In fact the Catholic Church does not see itself as a denomination - it sees itself as the original pre-denominational church.

Yup, it's a Christian/Judaism thing. Good stuff, you do see what m getting at then? I might not be the most attentive person in the pineapple but I've definitely never heard anyone tell me I'm supposed to have a beef with the jews because I'm a Catholic.

You're a Catholic? Cool, so do you have a beef with the Jews? Have you ever played the Catholic/Jew card on account of you being, well, a Catholic?

Yes - i believe you are trying to whitewash the Roman Catholic church being the prime movers in the Christianity/Judaism thing when it has been all powerful and jealously guarding it's position for hundreds of years in Europe.

And for the record - I'm an atheist

Deflect all you want, I'd just love a simple explanation of this pre programmed Catholic / Jew thing that's making all the "Young neds" in the Celtic support (let's assume they're catholics of course)  wave Palestinian flags without obviously having a clue why other than that they're subconsciously playing the "Catholic/Jew card., because there's no way on earth that they're politically aware, eh?

I am pretty sure that you totally fabricated this. Sounds like shit.

Although i dont agree with the support of the palestinian cause by republican/irish nationalist and celtic fans, i can say it is not "anti jew" or "anti semite" at all. I have yet to see a racist anti semite comment by GB or majority of celts.

It is forbidden by UEFA. St Johnstone got a fine for having ONE palestine flag in their end.

The GB don't care about Celtic, they are more concerned about attention seeking.

Well i can agree on the last paragraph 100%. Being socialised in the footballing world here on the continent in the 90s, me and my pals still dont like this ultra thing here. Colorwise it is nice but the constant singing, political and selfrightous statemens, the cringe "diffidati con noi" even being displayed in italian here in Germany and the occupation and self governance mentality of these 18 yrs old ####ers are extremely annoying. No respect for nothing.

Saying so, if there was an ultra group early/mid 90s for my club , i would have joined. Its an age thing ;-)
