There is the thorny issue of a good number of Arabs in the whole region who want to see Israel wiped off the face of the earth - a point that many who take the moral high ground seem to forget.

 

Being  "acutely aware"  is not the same as seeing and breathing the area,  I appreciate that the Israeli's have a right to defend themselves against some factions of Arabs but what they do in the West Bank and into Jordon is beyond defence and they know it.

Unfortunately waving a few Palestinian flags at Celtic Park is not going to have any effect on the Israeli government as they ignore attempted intervention from countries with far more power than a football club.

Israel formed Hamas as a religious counter to the secular groups formed around the PLO. The purpose of this was to weaken the PLO and end the first intifada.

Allowed Hamas to form is perhaps a better way to put it.

While you're at it, please give us a couple of examples of your Celtic supporting pals posts on social media which are pro Catholic/anti Jewish (of which you said you'd seen plenty). Thanks.

Mmmm, so you're claiming that Catholics more than any other Christian sept have a problem with "the Jews"? Are you saying you have no idea about the history of conflict between Catholics and Jews? The eejits on my Facebook continously go an about all this pro Catholic pish and in other posts mouth off about Jews at different opportunities. Oh, they have season books in with the Green Brigade. Will that do for you now son? See the part when I said bigoted neds? That didn't count for all in that section. But most guys on here would understand that unlike you.

Yeah of course more than other Christian sect's. Some Christian sect's are less than a couple of hundred years old, Catholicism is 1400 years older than the next most adhered to sect.
Before means of transportation most sects had no direct contact either.

I have no idea what card he is talking to, i thought (mistakenly) we were just discussing the known problems between the proponents of two creation myths.

Under the guise of catholicvism, armies have had stooshies with protestants and muslims, not sure i know off the top of my head any big stooshies between catholics and Jews, i not saying they didnt happen but, naw, im not aware specifically of any wars, battles. Maybe you could enlighten me? Your claim that there exists some catholic/jew card that glaswegian catholics are playing is, pish of the highest order, youve been asked to explain what this is and have failed to do so, asking questions instead of answering. We are talking about the here and now. The fact that catholicism has existed longer than protestantism is neither here nor there ffs, why would that make the average catholic any more prone to be anti semetic than the average protestant?
