Seen meals on river cruises too but looking for something a bit less sophisticated and less expensive! I was in London on Christmas Day last year . Spent most of day waiting for lost luggage to be delivered from airport but had an excellent evening meal in pub which was part of a hotel (from outside looked like a pub rather than a hotel bar) in street between Westminster and Buckingham Palace so will try to find place again and see if they take bookings for midday. Alan
Parklife - I'd go with JCFC recs. Anyone who recommends Tayabs after someone suggests £100pp is bonkers. It's a Pakistani cafe in Whitechapel! FTID - I'd rec here in Covent Garden. Relaxed, good food and you can hear yourself talk. http://www.saltyardgroup.co.uk/opera-tavern/

joecraigfanclub
Never realised it was still open. Good call as I have never heard a bad review about the place. I remember someone I knew went in the 80s and it seemed the height of sophistication
