duncan II
Anyone got any spare tickets for Glasgow? Some on Stubhub for 50-odd quid but don't wanna see them that much.
Squirrelhumper
Saw them a few years back at the Grandstand and they were outstanding.
Regenmann
Is this the Barras or ABC gig? Just curious - sorry, can't help with tickets. Their new album is highly enjoyable.

Looks like both are sold out anyway. Have seen them umpteen times but not for a while now. The "Bandwagonesque" gig at the Barras a few years ago when they brought back Brendan on drums was one of the best ever

I've got a ticket for the ABC concert - looking forward to it.

First half of the show was Bandwagonesque in its entirety, then they swapped drummers and played a load of stuff from Grand Prix onwards. Brendan returned for Everything Flows at the end. Great night, ended up socialising with some of the band round at Mono
wanderer
Thought they were fantastic at the Bandstand a couple of years ago, though not so sure on the latest album (got some good tunes on it, but fells somewhat lacking..... listened to it in its entirety on the bus from Brno to Trvana last week and journey passed in no time)

McTeagle
Just managed to blag a ticket for Inverness tomorrow night - no Aberdeen gig on this tour for some reason. Be a first for me, now seen them in all the main Scottish cities. On a separate note, don't suppose anyone knows of a spare for Pixies at Barrowland?.... ShedTA
Always thought they would be bigger than they have been. One of my favourite bands. Thought after bandwagonesque and then again after grand prix that they would become really big. Not that it bothers me - music's still great. Yes, its a lot more mellower than what they usually do (sounds like a continuation of Shadows IMHO) 43 minutes ago, ShedTA said: Always thought they would be bigger than they have been. Did Bandwagonesque not pip Nivermind to one of the big music magazines "Album of the Year"? "Songs from Northern Britain" is actually my favorite album from them, but its been steadily "downhill" (for the want of a better word) for them since Howdy! Charlie Endell
Hmmm. can't agree with "downhill" - 'Shadows' isn't bad and 'Here' is a real grower - it's currently my favourite Fannies' album. Every band with a long recording history produces duffers - e.g. 'Thirteen', which came before 'Grand Prix' and 'Songs from Northern Britain'. As I said, was for the want of a better word.... there albums since the mid 90's are not the same, but they still produce some good tunes (I like Shadows as well, but would struggle to break into my top 5 Fannies' albums). I think "downhill" definitely fits what I have heard of Here I see you can get a box set of the 5 albums Bandwagonesque to Howdy for about 12 quid - less that any one would have cost 'back in the day'...
