I dunno mate, I'm a west-ender. There could be wild unicorns galloping up and down the streets or griffins perched atop lamp posts in that neck of the woods for all I know (assuming they have streets and lamp posts down there, that is).

eh... ever been to Hampden Park?

Isn't that Cathcart, seat of the last Glasgow Tory MP, Teddy Taylor, who was shadow Scottish secretary right up until being booted out as his party took power in Westminster? :whistling:

Was Hillhead not the seat of the last Glasgow Tory MP (until 1982)?

Newlands (most of it anyway) was in Glasgow Govan, not Cathcart.

Hillhead was Roy Jenkins, Charlie. Until the locals took leave of their senses and voted for the crook that was Galloway, even at the height of the fraudulent War On Want malarkey.

Yes, I knew that. It was Conservative up until the 1982 by-election, which I remember well. The great Teddy lost his seat in 1979. Edited by Charlie Endell
