I think it has always been that way. I hate when the genuine fans can't get tickets but it is the way of the world. I was able to beat the system a few times in Italy but it is difficult now. That will mean more people getting Scottish tickets, won't it???

I also organized a beach party the same as I did for the TA - Trapattoni and players turned up for 5 mins but very few of the supporters!! :yikes3:

And don't forget about you spreading rumours that there would be no public transport to the ground to get people to but tickets for your buses when there were actually free buses available, that about sums you up.

The "no buses" thing was started by the local council.

Don't think so I was there and free buses was open knowledge on the Tuesday but rumours had been started on here the week before as I'd starting looking if we could walk from the hotel.

Yes. I agree.

I was there.

But the "no buses" thing originated from the local council. And remember that public transport is regulated over there.

And then they - late in the day - on the advice of police - decided to lay on buses.

Are you not thinking about the alcohol ban on the Wednesday which was the council?

The local bus company were denying free transport right up to the morning of the match. I still have a newspaper article from the day after the match, the local people had gone crazy because their buses had been diverted to give free transport.

I had been told there would not be any buses. I had been asked by someone from this board to put on buses, this actually didn't interest me at the time but he pleaded that the stadium was so far away etc. I put on the buses from the beach party and they were mobbed. The same happened on the way back from the stadium. People who hadn't got tickets were the first on the buses. I stayed behind with those who could get on the buses I had organised - there was a hot dog stand that put on music (and I thing sold beer) and got the bus company/police to send 5 more buses. The had to use the ones that were sent out first so the wait was quite long.

I have yet to hear from someone who found the free buses back from the stadium.

Genuine fans get tickets for Scotland away games.

I've been to 33 (I think aways) and only time I had to go in home end (Macedonia) was because there were fans with more away points than me and I lost out in ballot.

Sounds like FAI need to get out dark ages. SFA are a lot of things but loyal away fans get priority.

So have you had work done?

I can only guess at what you mean but I couldn't be bothered. You remind me of Ian Paisley Junior - the same sparkling wit and intelligence.

I hope there is an ignore option on this board - you will be the first on my list. I give up, you are like a broken record.

Way too much politics on here , who cares if someone voted yes no maybe ? It's a poxy football forum , keyboard warriors galore on here FFs !!

As for the fai , what a shower of clowns ?! Better off bein in with the scots now and not surrounded by a load of rugby jerseys in the official away section on their day trips ! Difficult to feel sorry for people who didn't buy an insurance ticket , but at the same time hopefully everyone gets sorted

Do the FAI not have a points system, where the most loyal fans get first dibs on tickets?

Nope ! System is a joke , some lads were in America for the Costa Rica and Portugal games last summer , Serbia away Poland away - these were all friendlies !! As well as all home and away qualifiers since and have been overlooked in favour of travel agents and supporters clubs , money talks & loyalty means Fook all

That is a wee bit simplistic now! Imagine going to support your national team and knowing that some of the people around you had betrayed your country and that your people were now a laughing stock because all the promises that were made to get the majority to vote no to independence had been broken from day 1 :yikes3: I think the 45% of Scots have the right to be angry.
