northernscum
me too I still see hundreds of YES stickers on vehicles up here. It is still the goal after all!
Watsoniansfan
Not true. Some Unionists aren't too keen on democracy it seems. I am. We democratically voted to stay part of the Union. It's (some) nationalists who seem unable to accept the resultant are talking about UDI and other undemocratic rubbish.
weekevie04
me too Not a sticker, but put 'Still' above the Yes on my badge. Have it up on the fridge, but meeting a Unionist next week that I ken so may well stick it on for then.
Armchair Bob
A pal of mine is British. I've more in common with a Geordie than an Orcadian he says. Aye, both ruled by posh khunts neither of youse voted for. The only difference is if the Geordie was offered a chance out of it he might have had the baws to do something about it. But that argument cuts no ice. He'd rather be bummed by former public schoolboys he hates for the rest of his life than be Scottish. Nowt queer as folk. ParisInAKilt
I am. We democratically voted to stay part of the Union. I'll ignore how the vote was won and just say that democracy never stops. The people of Scotland will decide when the next vote is. This once in a generation is nonsense. Orraloon
Never fails to sadden me when I see this given as a reason, usually followed by we couldn't afford it anyway It's the parents I feel sorry for. Paying all that money for a such a privileged education which only resulted in such a high level of ignorance.
islayscot
Re: "why won't the nationalist 45s accept the result, Scotland voted No" Part of the reason why the issue will continue is "the vow". Not all, but a significant proportion voted on the basis of this and therefore the issue will not go away, at least until it's delivered. This is entirely attributable to the tactics of the No campaign and in my opinion is something they will regret. The Smith Comission will fail to deliver Devo Max and it's possible another vote will happen relatively soon with the way circumstances are conspiring - eg UKIP, EU exit, landslide for SNP in May 2015 I am personally very disappointed with the result of the referendum however now consider how damaging it would have been to start a new country with a tiny majority. This is all part of a process and the tide is only moving in one direction
Hertsscot
Interesting comments from Pete Wishart SNP MP following yesterday's sparsely attended debate ''Today we saw once again the true colours of the Tory backbenches at Westminster. They remain unhappy and disgruntled with their embattled party leader for being bounced into the 'Vow' by Labour's Scottish dinosaurs - as speaker after speaker rose to their feet to make the point that this was something agreed by the Prime Minister but not at Westminster by MPs.They made clear they do not feel bound in any way by the ' Vow' - but made absolutely clear they continue to see the Barnett Formula as their key target - potentially slashing Scotland's budget by £4 billion."
