Orraloon
. Kind of like Jim Murphy with a degree. You can't say he didn't get a university education though. He did spend 9 years dossing about the place.
thplinth
thplinth he used the same insults that someone was saying weren't insults to insult them. So the person couldn't be offended because they had already stated that wasn't offensive. Now as to why Parkilife decided to say you were whooshed , have you two been arguing again? I know but killie posting that he did not think Wings saying proponents of gender quotas should be "less stupid & more honest" constituted abuse did not justify or merit him then being called 'thick as shit at the pig end of a bottle' nor a 'liar'. They are not equivalents and the latter is most definitely abuse.
iainmac1
They voted on quotas at the last conference. Are they doing another one this weekend or taking it further, ratifying it etc? I wasn't a delegate last time, only a visitor so couldn't vote. I am a delegate this time. I was swaying listing to the debate last time but would have been against quotas if I had to vote. iainmac1
Why do they want it just in Govt? If they're going to be serious about it, why not extend it to everything... 51% women, 49% men: Teachers Polis Army Accountants Lorry drivers Taxidermists Pilots Secretary's Load o' pish It is only a problem if it is male dominated. I am a primary teacher and have worked with one other male in the last 4 years but about 100 females. I imagine if the situation was reversed people would be screaming about the problem in primary teaching and being dominated by one sex. Auld_Reekie
For the absolute worst of Wings Over Scotland, check out his current reaction to rumours of Kate Higgins being a Special Advisor to Nicola Sturgeon. Total hissy fit and the very worst of his followers joining him. IMO, Kate Higgins oversteps the mark sometimes to be reasonable with certain opponents and journalists, but theres no doubting her intentions and qualities as a campaigner. I reckon it would be a great appointment. The reaction of Wings and his followers though, shows the absolute worst side of many in the SNP/Yes camp. I read Wings Over Scotland and I think he provides some forensic dissemination of most of the tripe that comes at us from the combined and separate forces of unionism. I've not been aware of some of the stuff on Twitter that he's been slated for on here, but that's fine. I don't see everything on Twitter. But I cannot believe this "toys oot the pram" effort that he's done today. On the rumour that Sturgeon has taken Higgins on as a Special Advisor. What does he think this will achieve? Think he's being a bit of a princess.
Scunnered
Forgive me, I've not seen any of this stuff today, but what exactly is the issue they have? Cove Sheep mentioned the appointment to me earlier and I just shrugged, don't think I've seen anything in her writings that would suggest there should be ill feelings. She's no McTernan that's for sure.

mariokempes56
I read the intro, then read the tweets, then went back to comments and still have no idea what it is/was about. Never come across the woman and no idea if the "story" was true or not.(whatever the story was).
Auld_Reekie
It's the fact he's taken a strip at all that sums the guy up. And the unquestioning loyalty of his supporters in the comments as well. I think she's hated because she was a very vocal critic of his tone and abuse, as well as his previous abuse. She kinda annoys me with her tolerance and willingness to cosy up to media types, but I have no doubt she's a good person based on writing and speeches during campaign. aaid
With Wings you have to separate out his personality - or at least his online persona - from the work he does. Edited March 26, 2015 by aaid

giblet
Met Kate a couple of times. Found her very pleasant, very left wing and very pro Yes. Big Wings fan, but todays nonsense is just a big hissy fit. End of the day he is just shutting up shop for the weekend, think I remember seeing something about him stating influential people from Yes campaign were urging people not to give him publicity, this maybe to do with Kate. I know in the past she has said people should donate to grassroots crowd funding opposed to Wings.
