Can somebody please explain why not wanting guys who consider themselves English to be called by Scotland, is bigoted?

I'm intrigued.

I'm more interested in why i'm "a failure"

You "jumped the shark" saying Mclean, Pawlett and Smith were better than Allan! :wink2:

I didn't say they were all better than Allan, just that i'd rather have them. I think McLean and Pawlett are better than Allan. I think Cammy Smith gives us something completely different from all of them. I love his boundless energy, enthusiasm and willingness to run beyond the striker.

I'm sure Allan is better than i think he is. I can't be right and everyone else, surely? ;)

:lol: In all the time on here and with all the insults dished out, that is probably the harshest comment I have ever seen. Shame on Zahani!

Mate, i cried myself to sleep last night over this.

I don't even "hate" James Morrison (i've no idea where that comes from). I just don't think he should be playing for Scotland when we're his second choice!

Nope definitely not. I believe in no racial prejudice hence Barry Ferguson screwed up and earned my wrath and same has gone for others such as S. Fletcher and Duncan Ferguson etc. I gave them stick because they deserved it and the same goes for Feruz - no matter the creed or colour if they piss me off they get my wrath. :ok::wave:

And what well-informed and intelligent wrath it is.

Sure as hell beats hating players purely depending on what club they play for as happens a lot. If a player screws with Scotland then they'll get my wrath - what is so wrong about that?

I don't think anyone rational would "hate" someone they don't know because they happen to play for a particular football team. Probably not worth bothering with the type who are in to that sort of thing. And probably best not to overthink why someone chooses whether or not to play for a football team ("screws with Scotland"). It's realy not that important. And it's definitely for the best that you don't try and overthink.

well at least there can be no excuses for him not getting watched as brighton is right on mark "the trawler of the lower leagues" mcghees doorstep

Strachan likes his fair share of Championship games as well.

Not sure if McGhee still lives in that neck of the woods, but know he is still popular with a element of the Brighton support.

There will also be McCall this season to 'scout'.

He was asked on radio Scotland the other week about Mackay Steven and Armstrong, his reply was what is Armstrongs best position and can gms really fit into our system, and "I'm more looking forward to scouting down in England next season". Depressing

All I can say is thank f**k scouts do trawl the lower leagues unearthing crucial stars like Anya, Russell Martin, etc etc etc. in recent years we have had many key players from the lower leagues so best not to knock it eh? Also I could point to a number of players at the so-called 'big clubs' that have flopped for us such as Kris Commons, Charlie Adam etc etc so lets not kid ourselves that the club a player plays for is a guarantee of quality.

He lives near the stadium and his kids go to school in Lewis. Or so he said when I met him 2 years ago.

Yes he does, so does Iwelumo :)

Great signing for us, love all the SPFL fans stating Brighton are a wee backwater club... that will be a backwater club with an infrastructure that pisses over most of the premiership in scotland (i know i know, thats not that difficult) - we have a state of the art stadium and academy..all we need now is shot of hughton...

I think it was me that used that term and think you misunderstand. By backwater don't take it as an offence I mean it isn't a club under the microscope from the media and hyped up pressure to perform that goes with it. He'll be able to perform without real pressure or expectation unlike if he had signed for Celtic say or a big EPL club.

Agree, we need to cast our net far and wide and Strachan looks at players who can do the job he wants. They don't have to be the best players but helps if they are and can do the job. I don't care which league he finds them in.
