One angry fan later tweeted: This is where the Sky money goes, into mediocre players pockets while lower league clubs can barely afford their academy.

Another fan blasted: There is no way he is good enough to have that kind of lifestyle.

This is what is wrong with the game. A third fan added: Two seasons, 7 goals, 1 new

Lamborghini"

3 of them probably pay for SKY

So it is accepted by every man and his dog who have a mere passing interest that every EPL player earns well into five figures a week. The thousands who go to the games each week arent botherd one bit by this obscene financial market. But at the same time if that player is at any point performing below par or struggling with form and/or injury then he shouldn't be buying anything or be seen with anything commensurate to his aforementioned accepted wealth. I think I have the gist of this modern day moral conundrum.

He's bought an Aventador because he can afford it. If I could afford an Aventador, Reventon, Huayra, Agera, McLaren, Veyron, Venom Gt or similar super/hyper cars I would be buying as many as possible, it's hardly his fault he is paid the £40k+ per week by Sunderland. If you like fast cars and can afford one then who's place is it to stop you buying one? Fans of Premier League clubs need to get real when their teams are clearly shit, Fletch driving a Lamborghini will not be stopping him scoring goals and it will not be getting in the way of Poyet making a rip roaring kvnt of things.

I think it sums up why football is absolutely ####ed though when bottom end premiership players are earning £40k per week!

Some of the stories that come out, like the guy at Birmingham City that was wiping his bum with bank notes, or the Sunderland players lieing in the pile of money in the casino....

To be fair to Fletcher, he's not done anything wrong, it's not his fault they're paying him so much!

And of course with the new improved tv deal they'll be getting even more soon!

Fletcher is a football player. Quite a good one at that. That means he is very wealthy, and he is entitled to spend his money on what he wants provided he had paid his taxes and isn't breaking any laws. He clearly hasn't got any taste, but that's a different matter.

Why shouldn't he spend his wages and pump money back into the economy? Chris evans has about a dozen classic ferraris, never hear anyone have a pop at him about owning them. Too much jealousy about.

Anyone else think Fletcher is pretty over rated? Never scored more than 14 goals in a season (all competitions) and 18 in total since August 2012. He's a decent player but not much more than that so fair play to him for making the most of it and getting contracts as good as he has!!

I like him. He's having a poor season but he is a good player. He's never going to be a 20-a-season forward but there aren't many better in the air than Fletcher. He's also a very intelligent player that is good at creating space and chances for others. Naismith is the same.

If we could fit those two in a team with Rhodes, he would score for fun. I'm not sure if we can fit the three of them in.

Agree with you, Fletcher never has been or will be a prolific golascorer but I think he's been unlucky with injuries as well. I never really believed the Real Madrid rumours but three or four years back I could have seen him moving to one of the bigger English clubs.

Let's be honest, if most people were on that kinda money, they would just spend spend spend.

Buying a car isn't that big of a deal, I'd be doing a lot worse.

Indeed, you wouldn't be able to move in my mansion for all the women and coke.
