Clyde1998
I've just checked who has candidates where this year - and noticed a few odd things. (Hopefully these are errors that someone can correct) Conservatives not standing in 4 seats: Cumbernauld, Kilsyth & Kirkintilloch East Kilmarnock & Loudoun Linlithgow & East Falkirk Motherwell & Wishaw Labour not standing in 2 seats: Coatbridge, Chryston & Bellshill (Labour held) Perth & North Perthshire Lib Dems not standing in 6 seats: Edinburgh East Inverclyde Lanark & Hamilton East Midlothian Moray Paisley & Renfrewshire North Greens not standing in 28 seats - I've heard this should be 27 (ie standing in 32 seats): http://www.scottishgreens.org.uk/westminster2015-2/ I've linked their website for candidates rather than list them all. Anyone know if these are errors in my list or not?
Flure
Have we reached the notification cut off? I cannot believe that Labour are not standing in Coatbridge, Chryston & Bellshill.

I'd be surprised too - I can't find an official list for them though. If they don't stand - then it'll be an SNP shoe-in against the Tories, Lib Dems and UKIP. We (SNP) in my local constituency have been punting our candidate for weeks already.

sbcmfc
My mums house is in the coatbridge, bellshill chryston constituency, and id be amazed if labour aren't standing there, as I'd imagine it is (was?) one of their bankers.

Toepoke
Brian Whittle is standing for the Tories in Kilmarnock (thought he was Labour for some reason?) That's one race he's not going to win...

King Of Paisley
Think Tom Clarke is standing down as MP in Coatbridge.
Flora MaDonald
Brian Whittle is standing for the Tories in Kilmarnock (thought he was Labour for some reason?) That's one race he's not going to win... I had a news with him at a rugby match years ago - I was actually speechless with his level of unionism. Needless to say he was telt. There must be a huge amount of competition/backstabbing/backhanding going on to get that nomination, which could take some time. Don't underestimate the desire of some people to get their snouts in the trough.

I wonder if he'll be sporting his relay medals for this campaign like he did before the referendum.... "In an independent Scotland I'd never have won these". sbcmfc
Think Tom Clarke is standing down as MP in Coatbridge. I tried to find out who it was, but as parliament was dissolved(?) yesterday, the website doesn't say. I'm sure it was John Reid when I lived with my parents. Armchair Bob
There are a good few Labour MPs standing down. Just reaching that time of their careers, or seeing the writing on the wall?

I'm sure it was John Reid when I lived with my parents. Tom Clark won in 2010 with a majority of almost 21,000. Can't see Labour losing that no matter who the candidate is. Even Scunnered could win that seat for them.

I'm sure it was John Reid when I lived with my parents. It was Tom Clarke and has been for a while now. He is standing down at this election. John Reid was MP for Airdrie for a while and before him it was Helen Liddell. I think John Smith was MP for Coatbridge before Tom Clarke? Clyde1998
ComRes poll of ALL Scottish Labour seats to be revealed tonight... Nerve racking. 19% swing to the SNP overall apparently - on Uniform Swing, Labour would be left with all but ten seats.
