Cove_Sheep
Murray beats Tsonga in straight sets. Plays Djokovic in the quarter-finals.
Boynze
good stuff from murray, funny start to the tournament in the match against haase. really needs to beat djokovic to get himself back into that top 4 bracket, he has not won a 'big' match since that Wimbledon final. they reckon this is his best surface. if he does not win then he may well just stay around the top ten and no longer threaten the big tournaments. Barney Rubble
Tsonga is the first top ten player Andy's beaten since winning Wimbledon.
BremnerLorimerGray
The Mrs and I have just renewed our ESTA's, got Sunday flights ready to book and I've booked the New Yorker for 4 nights just incase Andy gets to the final. I've got a feeling he might go on and win it again...

He seemed to be having problems with his stomach from the 2nd set onwards and recently always seems to have some sort of niggle or another. I can see Djokovic dispatching him in 3. Hopefully not, but I see where you are coming from. I do think that he looks to be rediscovering his game and is playing some outstanding tennis in spells. Some of his play against Tsonga was breathtaking.
dezmondo
Im in New York for a few days just now. Bought tickets for the Wednesday evening session months ago and fortunately it's turned out perfectly for me. Can't wait, I'm not overly confident he'll win but I'll be roaring him on anyway!! EddardStark
Murray lost in four. Probably pushed his opponent harder than most in the last few months. Game lasted nearly three and half hours. I worry about Murray's fitness overall. He looks like he is burnt out.

I worry about Murray's fitness overall. He looks like he is burnt out. He's said he's only got back to 100% in training in the last couple of months, so he won't be at the level of 2012/13 yet. It's a bit of a return to form for him, here's hoping he can build on it in the next few months and make sure he gets to the Tour Championships in November. Grantyboy1983
Yeah i watched the match, seems as though Murray ran out of steam in the end, first 2 sets were belters, then Djokovic started to dominate (though Murray still had plenty of break points but just couldn't take them). Murray does not seem to have got back to the level he was at prior to the back surgery, i fear he never will. Ironic that the surgery was intended to help him in the long run, seems to have set him back for whatever reason.

biffer
Hope so, want to see him winning more slams It looks like the form is returning, judging on the first two sets. The fitness is then just a matter of work - and he knows he's done that before so he can do it again. That match looked very much like a lot of the GS semifinals and finals he lost prior to 2012, particularly the ones to Djoko.
