Just looking at a taxi for return flight as I'm on 10:40 and looking at google its half hour car journey or over an hour on public transport. You can get the tram from York Place but the airport bus from Waverley Bridge (£4 single/£7 return) is the best option and takes 25 mins (quicker than the tram). At the time your leaving tho the airport bus is a great option. You could either get the local bus from Leith to Waverley Bridge or even get a taxi from Leith to Waverley. I guess it must depend when you're travelling though too i.e. very early morn or rush hour, weekends etc. Never thought about the tram as I no longer live in Edin and forget it's actually there now.
