Khana Lagur
Arrests, hysteria and sheer mental disengagement. Deary me. I'll be spending the day in the shed.

Maq
Genuinely never heard of it before yesterday! TV was full of adverts for it last night, utterly ridiculous Pretty disgusting scenes in supermarkets this morning on the news, people rioting, pushing folk out the way, fighting to save a few quid on a TV Consumers greed meets business greed A black day indeed
johnnie x
I thought Black Friday (also mad friday) is when all the P/T drinkers go to the pub? 19th December.
EvilScotsman
I thought Black Friday (also mad friday) is when all the P/T drinkers go to the pub? 19th December. It's a horrible night to be a barman. Office parties, folk who don't buy rounds, folk who can't remember their round, having to refuse folk service 10x more than usual etc etc. None of the bastards tip either. Fairbairn
I was in the States for Black Friday about 3 years ago. When I seen all the riots etc on telly I thought to myself "only in America". Apparently not.....
wheres the pies
just seen the bbc news utter carnage across the UK aye-your right you would have thought it was the states see folk fighting over telly's unbelievable just to save a couple quid
McDange
This is the continued "Americanisation" of the world by exporting this nonsense. Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving - which we don't celebrate. Simple marketing by big chains to get a busy day of shopping in. Another part of American culture we should be resisting
kps022000
Give it a few years and we will be celebrating thanksgiving. It breaks up the lull in spending between Halloween and Christmas. Love day indeed.
Big Col
how thick are folk? the retailers invent this day to encourage folk to queue up, get in a fight all to see who can empty their wallet into the till first. And what is it about big tellys?
