We've already been to Edinburgh and Loch Lomond, and we would like someething like a true fishermen village, or a touristic small village in the country, easilly reachable by train from Glasgow... I've already been to Arran and think one day is far too short to do it again. - Largs? - Stirling? - Other places? Many thanks for your answers. Ayr is also an hour from central but has a lot more. And you could easily jump down to Alloway and do the whole Burns touristy thing. What about Millport island (boat from Largs)?I like Millport but apart from hiring a bike and cycling round Cumbrae (about eleven miles and pretty much totally flat, so it's easy going) there isn't much to do.
