Tartan Eagle
Picture on my TV getting progressive darker ? - the settings are now at 100% brightness; high on contrast; low on colour. Watched Warhorse the other night - thought the whole film was shot at night-time. It's a 7 year old Sony Bravia. Before I go looking for a new one, does anyone know if this sounds like it's terminal
deecie
Mine has done the same, but with the sound instead. It works fine if it's using the feed off my laptop though? Not found a workable solution yet.

OLAS
Anyone got any new TV recommendations? Looking at the Samsung 65" UHD curved models. They do look crackin' but you'll have nothing to watch for a couple of years in which time the telly will depreciate faster than a new car. Tartan Eagle
Mine has done the same, but with the sound instead. Not found a workable solution yet. Thanks all. Job done - the TV was kaput. Only workable solution: a new TV - a modest (by TAMB standards it would appear) 42" Sony. All installed - smart and brilliant pics. OLAS
Was thinking that myself, but there is not much difference in the price of an HD or UHD curved tv. There is a huge difference between HD TVs and UHD curved ones. Unless you just mean the difference between prices of 65" TVs? I bought a Philips 42" 'Smart' telly 18 months ago and utterly despise it. The "Smart" features are horrendous and it's slower than any telly I've ever used. The £10 Now TV box was a belter of a buy. Now it's a smart telly. Realised last night I only use it as a display for external sources. If any company would simply sell a good display without anything smart, any digital box built in, speakers/sound processing, networking etc, they'd have me as a customer. thewelk
The curve thing is a gimmick. An expensive one at that. Doesn't add anything.
Dave78
The £10 Now TV box was a belter of a buy. Now it's a smart telly. Had been thinking about getting one of these for a while. Just ordered one tonight. Will probably use it for the 1 day sky sports passes.
sbcmfc
The curve thing is a gimmick. An expensive one at that. Doesn't add anything. I can't see what it adds? I've had a look at them in the shop, and to be fair, my initial concern was a reduction in viewing angle, which isn't a problem, but I don't really see the point? Bzzzz
The curve thing is a gimmick. An expensive one at that. Doesn't add anything. That's what I'd heard too, I'll stick with my Samsung & LG tvs, both great tvs, I'd say the Samsung shades it tho as picture quality is amazing!
