  1. I always believed that UEFA officials were biased towards the larger TV audience countries in important games. The selective use of VAR just makes this all the more glaring. Either they quickly find a way to use it fairly and consistently or (preferably) they should end this failed project altogether.
  2. Glad I'm not the only one... Jacob Brown simply isn't good enough to play for Scotland. Never offers anything positive from what I've seen of him.
  3. Agree that Shankland should start on Sunday. I'd have had him on sooner today as Dykes was off it from the start. Not the result I was hoping for. It would have been nice to get this monkey off our back, especially when other teams of our level all seem to be able to grind out results in Tblisi. Anyway, que sera sera.
  4. Daily Mail are "reporting" that Liverpool are preparing a $40M move for Archie Gray in the summer. I'd never heard of him, but a Gray at Leeds with a name like Archie had to be Scottish... Turns out he's Andy Gray's son (so grandson of Frank and Grandnephew of Eddie), and he's been in the England set up from U15-U19... That doesn't sit right with me.
  5. It's also taken the game further away from those that understand it. There was always the complaint that most referees didn't understand the game at the top level (I realise its Aberdeen we're talking about here) because they'd never played it themselves. However, what they did have was experience and a proximity to the game because they were in amongst it. The VAR official chimes in whenever it suits him to do so it seems. In this case you've got a penalty given for an after the ball had gone challenge that had no impact on the move whatsoever in the final second of the game. No players were claiming a penalty despite it being the final attack. That should tell you something about whether it's really worthy of a penalty or not. All that said, ridiculously needless challenge from Rubizic. If bombscare centre back was in the dictionary, his picture would be next to it. He's almost guaranteed to give the opposition a goal out of nowhere every game. Why is he still getting picked?
  6. That's a great goal! We have a team to be proud of.
  7. Did they do a staggered start there so that each side of the stadium was singing a different line from Flower of Scotland at the same time?
  8. Managed to get a feed of the game on Cyprus TV (PIK1) through a VPN. Reminds me a lot of that newsroom in the Fast Show. 😁
  9. I've seen him numerous times now and I think Morris might be the worst player I've ever seen in an Aberdeen shirt. I honestly think you could pick someone off the local park pitches each weekend and they'd do every bit as good a job. I have no idea what Robson sees in him that makes them think he deserved 87 minutes tonight. Although I wish there was less of a focus on foreigners, I think some of Aberdeen's summer business will prove to be good investments... but that Serbian boy at the back is a total bombscare. I suspect he'll be home by Christmas.
  10. I don't really think national teams should be referred to as "clubs".
  11. I haven't heard much about that boy Hackney, but it does sound like he might be the next cab off the rank if someone drops out from central midfield. Sorry, I'll get my coat.
  12. Hi - Do you still have these tickets available?
  13. Rodri's had an absolute shocker with his post game comments. What he's describing is a mirror image of how Spain approached it in the first half. All it succeeded in doing (apart from getting a couple of our lads booked) was to open the door to the fact that this ref was only going to reward players diving and roll around on the floor. It made perfect sense that our team would take that opportunity when they were tired and holding a two goal advantage, and at least there was actual contact when they did. "We did many good things to win," he said on Viaplay. "We conceded easy goals - this is football, if you concede easy goals you are penalised. "It's the way they play, but for me it's rubbish, always wasting time, provoking you, always they fall. For me, this is not football. The referee has to take on this, but he says nothing. "We will learn for the next time. We want to go for duels, for battles - we always fight, but this is not about fighting. It's about wasting time - four, five players on the floor, but this depends on the referee, not on us. "Today we did many good things, but what's important is the goal, and we didn't score."
  14. McGinn is such an important player for us. A real game changer at international level. It's very strange to me that he gets played in a more defensive postion. Hasn't scored all season in the Premiership, right?
  15. Herculean effort there. Thanks!
